melos Posted August 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2008 The glass elevators, especially when I can lay down to look out. Wherever the cookies are. The baseball glove seats in the sports bar. The chess set. See #2. The "treasures" on the bed every night, expecially when he can grab mom and dad's, too. The cool towel animals, except that I immediately grab them and they fall apart. The dark hot chocolate on the room service breakfast tray. Playing ping pong with dad and cousin Justin. Feeling the vents blowing out air everywhere. Touching the ice sculptures. See #2. The toy box (ottoman) in Grammy's cabin! The pirate ship in Club HAL. The rocks in the planters. The space behind the couches in the Crow's Nest where I can run almost the whole way around. See #1. See #2. DVD player in the cabin. Playing with ice and the tongs. Eating a cookie while riding in the glass elevator.
CDRMark Posted August 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2008 For some reason. I expected ice cream to figure more prominently.... Nice post. :) Thank Jake for his review. It is among the beter I have read. Cheers Mark

RuthC Posted August 8, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2008 I remember a time when there were frequent posts on CC lamenting the decline in HAL's chocolate chip cookies. I'm happy to agree with Jake that they've been perfected on the E-dam.

cruisinjudy Posted August 9, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 9, 2008 We are taking the kids and grandkids on Westerdam in May so I really liked this thread. My grandson will be four and the girls will be one. Guess I need to have a toy box!
Debbie&Chaz Posted August 9, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 9, 2008 Jake is a wise young man. Since our HAL cruise I don't eat any cookies from the local market or "cookie shop." So we've signed up for another HAL - DW just doen't know its for the cookies!
May4 Posted August 11, 2008 #10 Share Posted August 11, 2008 I like your style, buddy. Here's hoping your mom and dad get you back on another cruise very soon. You made me smile:)

GmaPajama Posted August 11, 2008 #12 Share Posted August 11, 2008 You're my kind of boy, Jake. I'd try your elevator trick if I thought I could get up again. Did your Grammy try it? And, I'm with you on the cookies - they're the best!
melos Posted August 11, 2008 Author #13 Share Posted August 11, 2008 Thanks, everybody! We'll have to save this for his baby book. I dunno if Grammy could've gotten up, either. He did get mostly positive responses from people in the elevator. A few grumps, but not too many. He didn't make a fuss if we made him get up if there were a lot of people on. Just had his b-day party yesterday, now we need to get him de-sugared!! We're hoping to do another big family cruise in a year or two, somewhere warmer and cheaper! And, I'm with you on the cookies - they're the best! I think we Yummers are going to have to hijack a glass elevator and give it a try, Copper can stand guard...... ;) :D On second thought, maybe it's not such a good idea as I get dizzy and nauseous much easier than when I was Jake's age !! Thanks for Jake's marvelous insights!:D :D
