Cruising in November

Recommended Posts

Has anyone cruised in November? Was the weather OK? Deciding on a western or eastern carribean cruise, not sure if weather will be much different in either. Thanks for your input!

Western Caribbean has less of a chance of being affected by hurricanes that time of year than Eastern. Now, that's not to say it can't happen, but it would be a rarity.

We cruise November early December and no hurricane issue. However we have had changes in the ports due to damage.

We have cruised four times in November, three times eastern, one time western, we have never had any problems whatsoever. of course you are taking a risk, but it has always worked out for us.

We are cruising again this November.

FINGERS CROSSED!!!!:p

We cruised last year out of San Juan on the Adventure of the Seas Oct. 28-Nov.4. After many quiet weeks in the Caribbean a tropical storm came in and we had a very wet day in San Juan and on the first day of the cruise. By the time we hit Curacao and Aruba the sun was shining and it was very hot. I understand the southern Caribbean does not get nearly the number of storms that occur farther north.

That being said we leave November 2 on the eastern route and are hoping for the best.

Cruising in November is fairly safe as far as hurricanes are concerned, not that they don't ever happen but they are very infrequent.

However, if there is a perticularly bad storm that affects a port that your cruise is going to, then your plans could be affected.

I haven't cruised in Nov but we did take a landbased vacation to Cancun Thanksgiving a few years ago and it was gorgeous weather. One reason why we planned our cruise near Thanksgiving this year. Sister was on Ecstasy last Nov and weather was great.
