What's the first thing you do?

Recommended Posts

Begin at Pool bar then:

#1 Spa Appts

#2 Wine package

#3 Dining Room check out table

#4 Specialty Restaurants, if it is in our plans

#5 Snack, Windjammer

#6 Pool bar

#7 Drop stuff in Cabin

#8 Pool bar

#9 walk the deck

#10 Pool bar

Sounds like you may have a great cruise and a high bill at the end! :D

As soon as we get to our cabin we usually call kids and parents to get them know we are on the ship and remind them that we'll be hard to contact for the next 7 days. Won't have to call the kids this time, they are all coming with! Then we are off to explore. We aren't usually onboard early enough to eat or swim. So after looking around, we head to the muster and get ready for the sail away.

Savor the fact that I'm blessed to cruise once again while waiting for an elevator.

Head to cabin to drop off carry-ons and then to Windjammer or visa versa depending on if we can get into cabin first.

Take care of any arrangement needed - speciality dining, spa appts, whatever.

Check out dining assignment table.

Tour ship - find a nice bar for a drink.

This is a popular question and there has been numerous threads over the years about it.....there has been one answer that has always popped up on them, but so far not on this thread.....so here goes.....and mind you WE know nothing about it!!!

No one has mentioned testing the mattresses. Like I said, we know nothing about that!! :p :D  ;)

Whats the first thing we do? Windjammer, cabin, walk around and take pictures before the ship gets too full and locate all the restrooms!

We always go directly to the Windjammer for lunch. The Honey Stung Chicken on embarkation day is wonderful. After that we go to our cabin and unpack our carryons, and then head to the dining room to find our table location. We just like to know where our table is located, although we have never asked to be relocated.

We see if we can get into cabin to drop off carry ons. Then exploring the ship, including: dining room table, casino, theatre, shops - kind of getting the lay of the ship. Then off to the windjammer for a snack. More exploring, muster drill then onto our balcony for sail away. The last time we had a bottle of champagne and a cheese and fruit tray. That made it extra nice, think I will preorder that again!

The wife and I walk the ship to find out where things are like cabin, dinning table and everything else. We also find that it is a great time to get photos of the ship as we are normaly in the first group on the ship. Then its off to the windjammer before we can get to the cabin..

What's the first thing you do when you get on the ship. I kiss the ground and say that God I made it back. I need a Mohito.

Once on the ship we...

1) Head to the Windjammer - We were at the port early and we were to excited to sleep and eat so now we need to...:)

2) Take our carry on's to the cabin if we can get in them and head out onto the balcony to get a quick view of our view for the next week.

3) Go to Dining room to check out our tables and make any changes if we need to.

4) Go and make / or call for reservations for Chops or Portofino is the ship has it.

5) Since we usually travel with a decent sized group, usually there are newbies so we give them a tour of the ship and explain about the Cruise Compass and show them around a bit.

6) Start to unpack and get ready for muster drill

7) After muster drill fire up the blender and party for sail away !!

8) MORE FUN !!!!!!!

9) Book next cruise

10) Last night....cry and refuse to get off ship, so they throw me overboard....

11) Fly home and start chatting on Cruise Critic about next cruise so I dont get Post Cruise Blues...;)

The first thing we do is to make our reservations at Chops for formal night since we have no desire to be in the main dining room on that night. Speaking of the main dining room, I am surprised to see that so many check out their table location. Unless it is next to the bathroom door, it doesn't make much difference to us!;)

For us finding our table is more of a look-see for table size/location.

It also helps getting to your table the first night because you know where to go! :)

Like most, we check out our cabin and then head to the pool bar for a drink and to meet up with the rest of our cruise crew. There will be 10 of us going in December. I'm curious, I see that a lot of people head off to see the Matre D' (sp), what purpose does this serve?
