Curious....why is this? Some tradition, coincidence, or contractual?

It is tradition...Carnival has always had Italian Captains and officers just as Holland American has Dutch and NCL has Norwwegian...Royal Caribbean used to have only Norwegian but the demand got so great for Norwegian officers they had to expand and now have Greek, Swedish, Canadian and even an American as a Captain...yes they do have an American!

 

I am not sure why Carnival is adding Croatians to the officers now...mayber there is such a demand for Italian officers that they had to supplement them with Croations?:cool:
