Splendour of the Seas

Right behind ya, plyman69 – we arrive when you depart 2/12/05. ;) Didn’t know they had a Grand Suite guarantee category. Did you have to book directly with RCCL to get the guarantee in that category?

We booked the second last GS they had, #8008, the end of July. We were surprised how quickly they sold out (7 months from cruse)! Did they sell out quickly for your 2/5/05 sailing too? I think there are only 12 on the Splendour, so I guess they go quickly. It was the cheapest GS on any of their ships we’ve ever come across for a 7 day cruise.

When the travel agency’s turn in their unsold rooms, hope you get a nice GS. The 1st W. Carib. sailing begins Nov. 27th, so anxious to read reviews of this Splendour itinerary.

Happy sailing everyone!

Diane, We booked the dolphin encounter..but, through the ship...from what I've read, we'll check at the docks to see what we want to do when we get to each port. Probably parasailing in either Belize or Cozumel. I'll look for you on the ship..are you sighed up for the CC get-together? We are.

We did not sign up the cc get together. We will be on board with my two kids and my mother in law, father in law, sister in law and her husband. I am figuring that we are going to be extremely busy! I am hoping for a bit of time to sit on my balcony and do NOTHING AT ALL!!!!!! I can't wait for some free time and bit of relaxation. We booked a trip to stingray city in Grand Cayman and cave tubing in Belize through a couple of independant tour operators. We usually just get off at the dock and look for whatever we want to do but with such a large group this year I though it was better to plan ahead.

Hi Cruisinpatty,

We will be early seating for dinner. My in-laws are early birds and like to eat early and go to sleep early. We also bring our little girls to the dining room with us. If we waited for the late seating, I think they would fall asleep at the table. They love eating in the dining room even though they get a bit bored while they are waiting for the food between courses. They are actually very good about eating all kinds of food. On our last cruise the waiter kept giving them the kids' menus and my girls kept asking for the adult menus. My younger daughter especially loves seafood and will be very happy if RCI has lots of fish and shrimp on the menu. We splurged on the balcony this time because this is a big celebration cruise for us. I'll be looking for you in January.

I can't wait until January 8! Cruisin Patty, I will be looking for you in the dining room. We should be easy to pick out with our two little ones with us. :)

We have booked excursions through independent tour operators in Belize and Grand Caymen. In the past, I just got off the ship and looked around to figure out what I wanted to do. This time, with such a large group of us I thought I better plan ahead. We are going cave tubing in Belize. I am really excited about it. We were on NCL about 4 years ago and sat at a large table for dinner. When we stopped in Belize on that cruise an older couple from our table went cave tubing. It sounded like so much fun, that I swore if I got back to Belize I was going to try it. I will definitely post some reviews when we get back from our cruise. I think we are going to go back to Chunkanaab while in Cozumel. I thought about going to Paradise Beach but I liked the idea of the sheltered beach area for my little ones at Chunkanaab and DH and I love the snorkeling there.
