arush5268d Posted November 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Hey all...I'm set to sail on the Ecstasy on 11/24, in cabin M111 Cat 4B. There's three of us in this room - but if I read the deck layout on Carnival's website correctly this room only has two twins. Is this correct? If so...should I keep my mouth shut until I *discover* this upon boarding and hope for an upgrade / additional room? Thanks in advance!

Carnival is very careful about how many they put into a cabin, I doubt there was a mistake. However if there was you run the risk of ending up very cramped as the ship might be full and no other option available
arush5268d Posted November 6, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted November 6, 2008 That makes sense about the risk in holding off... I noted on the layout that none of the rooms in that area on the ship showed to have the upper beds. 3 people to a room - and an interior cabin - are new territories for me with Carnival. yearnin4cruisin Posted November 6, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 6, 2008 If the legend on the website lists it as two twins, you will likely get a rollaway bed for the third.
serene56 Posted November 6, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Yikes- you are getting a cabin with two beds-- and a rollaway. Did you get this cabin via booking a guarantee room? or did did someone take your booking and give it to you? If you want to make changes now is the time to do so- when you sail your ship will be full.

There is no whoopsie here. They know exactly what each room holds and you will get a rollaway bed if in fact there is not a wall berth. You will be very cramped if so.Don't think you are getting anything by them. This ship has been sailing for many years and any issie would have been taken care of years ago. RAVI360 Posted November 6, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 6, 2008 O.K. where exactly do you put a rollaway ( at night)in a interior...the rooms seem tight with just the twins????
mrsfuzzmo Posted November 6, 2008 #8 Share Posted November 6, 2008 We had three people in a cabin on Carnival and it only had 2 twins, but one was put onto the couch which the room steward made into a bed each night. BUT, we had an outside room.

We had an inside cabin on the Inspiration with two twins and a rollaway. It wasn't in the way very much and actually was really comfortable. BUT, we had an outside room. inside cabins dont have sofas. IF the beds are pushed together the rollaway will be right inside the door entrance. IF the beds canbe kept apart--against the walls the rollaway can sit snuggly between the two.
Ship Addict Posted November 6, 2008 #11 Share Posted November 6, 2008 On the Ecstasy, if you have a rollaway bed you will have one bed underneath the window going across the room (along the length of the ship). Then there is one fixed bed perpendicular to that against the wall, and the rollaway is across the room from it, also perpendicular to the window bed. Sometimes the end of it is tucked underneath the desk, so you may have to give that to the shortest person. There is still plenty of floor space for moving around. If you have the two fixed beds made into a king, I'm not sure what the room arrangement would be, but it seems to me it would be pretty crowded. arush5268d Posted November 6, 2008 Author #12 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Thanks for the help, everyone. I'm not crazy about this rollaway concept - think it's time to pay for an upgrade.

I'm not crazy about this rollaway concept - think it's time to pay for an upgrade. i am not seeing much availabity for 3 beds in an inside cabin- its a holiday sailing. maybe look to see what it will cost to move to an oceanview-- at least you will get the sofa-- but make sure that sofa sleeps 3-- some are only love seat type of sofa and are not convertible

The Ecstasy is a Fantasy class and does not have sofas in the regular oceanview cabins. You will either have to find a cabin that has an upper or move up to a suite. PhoenixDawgCruising Posted November 6, 2008 #17 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Believe it or not folks, every blue moon the cruiselines actually make an error, but usually only on new ships. In 2003, on another line, I booked directly thru the line for a triple balcony, a king for me and my husband, a pullman for our then 7 year old son. Well, we got there, no pullman. Being the over-organized person that I am, I had the original brouchure with me from when I booked, turns out the plans were changed during building (it was the ship's first year at sea), and nobody bothered to change the plans in the computer, so my cabin was listed as a triple, but only was a double, no sofa sleeper, no pullman , nothing. Luckily the ship wasn't quite full, and after waiting til we got out to sea, the guest relations desk finally found us a proper triple, with a few perks thrown in for our trouble.;) So it does happen, just not very often, and usually only in the first few months at sea. Lib0007 Posted November 6, 2008 #18 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Does the Splendor have triple inside cabins that require a rollaway? We are still waiting on an assignment and hope I don't get a rollaway (do they roll it "away" during the day or does it stay there all day). I would much prefer an upper or a convertible sofa for my son. Thanks . . . .
mariemorgan Posted November 6, 2008 #19 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Is it possible they are putting a rollaway for the 3rd person? I know they do that sometimes.

It's looking like that's what their plan is. I didn't know that they did this until it was mentioned in this thread.
Zeta3 Posted November 7, 2008 #21 Share Posted November 7, 2008 Thanks so much for posting this! I checked our booking for the Imagination and we also had been booked into a double with a rollaway. I was able to get it changed but that truly would have sucked.
MsRed318 Posted November 7, 2008 #22 Share Posted November 7, 2008 I was the unfortunate one to have to sleep on a roll-a-way bed on my last cruise and if you can, please see if you can upgrade to a room with an upper berth. Sleeping on that cot was terrible and totally ruined my back. Plus, even when they folded up the cot during the day it was still a tight squeeze in the room, and this was in an ocean view room on the Inspiration (no sofa in those cabins). Good luck. I looked at the available cabins - and none of them have the uppers so I wasn't going to worry about it. After your post though - I am indeed going to call my PVP and see if they can swap things around!
