Shopping near ship

There is a tourist bldg at the pier that will have just about anything you are looking for. This port is a working container port and I would not venture ourside the confines of the tourist building. You can take a water taxi to Livingston or hire a taxi to take you into town. The town is not a tourist stop so many of the shops support the locals and that is about it.

The port building is filled with local merchants with many unique local crafts. There is also entertainment dancers singers. Drinks and food to buy and several local tour agencies. If you want some unique souvenirs that you won't find anywhere else this is the place.

Santo Tomas is definitely THE place to pick up that special gift. Not only are the crafts authentic (nothing made in China) and beautiful, but many of the vendors start with a price and if you take a step toward the next stall, the price is immediately reduced--sometimes in half or more! I'm not a shopper, but this place really got my attention.
