princess pizza

We found the pizza great on all of the Princess ships except the Tahitian Princess. It was more like a cardboard crust with pizza toppings, and not many toppings either. (on the TP it is located inside the Horizon Court area and one of the only alternatives in the evening as most nights the buffet is closed).

We were sure disappointed as we have always loved Princess Pizza! :(

The pizza is by far not like the pies we get here in CT. But for a cruise ship, it's not bad. I think the idea of the pizza venue is what intrigues us more. Being able to pull up a seat and kick back, waiting for your pie...ahh...
Think it depends on what area of the country you come from. We are from the west coast and much prefer it to your east coast pizza.

The pizza on the Grand class ships is OK (served out by the pool) but I LOVE the pizza on the Sun class or the Regal at the sit down restaurant. I usually eay lunch their every other day, and the additional choices at night make it a great option for dinner also.

We really liked the pizza on the Golden and Coral. On the Sea, the pizzaria was 'annoying', in that you had to order a whole pizza and wait for it -- we prefer the "grab a slice" method of eating!

But on the Celebrity Constellation this past summer, we thought the pizza was equally good as on Princess.

Is there a significant difference between the pizza on the Golden/Grand etc and the Sun/Dawn? I have only been on the Golden and the pizza was, at best, OK, mostly terrible, compared the the stuff at home. But what made it taste so much better is that it was usually consumed on deck while watching the world go by. I would eat cardboard (which could be used to describe the pizza) and be happy!!!

The pizza on the Star was located next to the Trident Grille by outdoor pool and closed at 6 pm.

I always had a slice of pizza or a buger/fries, usually around 5-5:30 pm before getting ready for dinner. One night I went at 6 p.m. and they just closed but since the pizza guy knew me, he unwrapped 2 slices of pepperoni for me.

So my guess is that they close at 6, but it may depend on the ship and itinerary and whether or not the pizza/grille is worth staying open later or not.

Also, I don't know if I would call Princess pizza the best, but it's surprisingly good quality compared to the rest of the food.
