Millie or Connie??

If you had a choice, which would you sail? We sailed Connie in September and are going on Millie in Dec. We did a transatlantic crossing in Sept. and are doing a Christmas cruise in the Caribbean on Millie. Just wondering if there are difference in the two. I have heard that they are almost identical. That's kind of a bummer, but oh well. I am so looking forward to the sunshine cuz on the transatlantic, the pool was not usuable for the most part. Any input out there? Thanks!

They are very much alike. Each one has its own "character", but we have been on both 3 times, and I like both of them.

I do think the speciality restaurant on the Millennium is more beautiful. But, I would chose the itinerary you wanted. I think you will be happy on either.

Thanks Tex! Well, while we loved Europe, we wouldn't do it again on a cruise. X was nice, but it stunk not being able to use the ship to full potential when there for 2 weeks. We had a sour ending with X as we debarked in NYC (all of us going to a particular airport were stuck waiting for HOURS - I mean HOURS and many people missing flights, etc. with no one from X in sight). So, we had a bad taste in our mouth. We have sailed RCCI and Carnival before. We had already booked this other X cruise along with another RCCI and Disney. We think we'll like this one better at Christmas in the Caribbean. We love San Juan and St. Thomas as well as the Bahamas. So, portwise we are tickled. We just hope for a little different experience. We were told that the 4 ships were very much the same. Thanks for the info on Olympic. I think we're going to try it. With the weather getting cooler here, we're so looking forward just to getting away! Can't wait!

To further explain what happened on our 2 week cruise: 1st week in Europe: wonderful!, 2nd week at sea: ROUGH! We had 50 foot high seas as we were suppose to go into Iceland but that port was cancelled. We were lucky to get to go to Spain instead - what a treat! However, IMHO, X didn't really have a lot going on in the day. When I cruise, I like to sit poolside and relax, go see some funny shows (like Newlywed, Jeopardy, etc.), stuff like that. We tried the therapy pool a couple of days (which was nice for the most part) but you really couldn't use it cuz the waves from the ocean made huge waves in the pool - it wasn't safe to swim in, nor was the big pool. It was hard to stand up half the time. Sure, this is the nature of the Atlantic Ocean - at least out there where we were. We enjoyed our transatlantic crossing overall, however, we would not do Europe on a cruise again. My parents just Alaska on Infinity and said the same thing. There's just too much to explore. I think we have found that we just love the Caribbean - that's our style with cruising. Warm weather and cold drinks! :D We are most definitely assuming that this will be different - at least hope so. We have heard that they are the same - ship wise. I'm sure it will be a different "taste" so to speak when we cruise Millie next month. We're looking forward to it!
