micdee Posted December 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2008 We are thinking of doing the Airboat excursion after our cruise on the Crown. Our flight out of FLL is 4:15, so I know we have the time to do it. My questions are, what time do you have to leave the ship, and what time does it arrive back to the airport? I've done a search and I'm getting conflicting times.
dot73 Posted December 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2008 I did that excursion in March. I really enjoyed it as I have never seen the Everglades before except from the plane. I think I left the ship between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. and was dropped off at the FLL airport between 1:00 and 1:30. It was a great excursion and I will be doing another one again this February. It's a lot better than sitting around the crowded airport. P.S. It was great to see the Eagles drub the Cowboys yesterday. Weren't the Cowboys supposed to win the Superbowl this year? I may get flamed for this, but I don't think any team will ever win the SB with T.O. on its roster. Good luck in the playoffs.

I did this tour off of the Zaandam several years ago. As my memory serves, the whole tour took around 3.5-4 hours. You should be fine with a 4:15 flight. Best guess is that you'll be off the ship and on the bus by 8:30, and done with the excursion and at the airport no later than 1:30.

dot73 Posted December 29, 2008 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2008 Mine isn't available on line either. Go to the excursions desk and they will have forms with description of the excursions. You can sign up then.
patwin Posted December 29, 2008 #9 Share Posted December 29, 2008 This is a great idea to kill time, we are doing a back-to-back cruise from Ruby to Eurodam in April. P&W
Toto2Kansas Posted December 29, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 29, 2008 We have always received a flyer in our stateroom a few days before disembarkation to sign up for post cruise tours in Fort Lauderdale. So, look for it, or ask while onboard about half way through your cruise. ;)
micdee Posted December 30, 2008 Author #11 Share Posted December 30, 2008 Thanks to everyone for the info I was looking for. Trying to avoid waiting in lines at the airport. On our last cruise out of FLL, we arrived at the airport around 11:00 and waited in line for over 2 hours:eek:. Don't want a repeat of that.
