Question about booking excursions with Carnival

We have booked 2 excursions with Carnival and I am wondering how this works.

Do they have a list onboard, of the people who have already signed up?

Do they give you something in writing when you board, with instructions on when and where to meet?

Just curious. My e-documents list the excursions, but that's all I have.

IIRC, the "tickets" (with instructions where and when to meet) are delivered to your cabin.

Usually the night before. I found mine on my bed when we came in after dinner.

We have always had them in our cabin that evening, or the next day, depending on when our first port was. Have always booked Carnival excursions (I know - we can save money doing them on our own, but we are chicken, so we spend the extra bucks for a safety net!!) The delivery of excursion tickets has always been very reliable.

Does anyone know if one books an excursion, is transportation included from the SHIP, or do we have to get from the ship TO the excusion (paying for taxi fee on Calica pier, for example)?

if you book your excursion through Carnival, unless it SPECIFICALLY states in the description that say, you will be dropped off in town and getting back to the ship is on your own; for the most part, the excursion includes transportation to where ever the activity is and then back to the ship.

and if you book with an outside company, not through the ship, they will generally give you directions on where and when to meet them upon arrival in that port - most include some sort of van or bus service to and from the activity.
