HMC Cabana's from the Rotterdam!

Recommended Posts

My parents (Grover Kids) boarded the Rotterdam today, they checked on their purple cabana and were told all cabana's are now operational. However they were told that they were moved to the light Blue cabana as they have the butler service. I asked my dad to take photo's of the cabana's and the placement of them to see if they have been moved around :)

They will be home (in 11 days) one day and then comming to my house (4 hrs drive) the next day and we will post here for you all to see :)

Dear Ziggy;

Was there any particular reason that they moved your parents to that cabana? Are they trying to make it more convenient for your parents or for the butler? I would think $270.00 would be enough incentive for the butler to work any of the cabanas.

They were told it was a better place to have butler service from, not sure what they meant, thats why I asked my Dad to photo them and the placement, I suspect they were replaced on the beach in a different location maybe, but my parents didnt know to ask that question. They had booked the purple one, but they were also upgraded to a veranda from an inside due to cancelations, so maybe there were cancelations on the cabanas and they just shifted everyone. It's a mystery at this point. If they call or email me I will let you all know :)

Hi Everyone! I wasn't going to post today because I came down with a horrifying cold Thursday (on our cruise:( ) and am flat out basically ... really just came on to see if anyone said "welcome home!", but I don't see anything like that.....;)

I will be doing a review very soon, but I do have some news on the cabanas so thought I would post quickly. First, Ziggy, I wish I'd known your parents were in the light blue because I would have run down there! We were in the Turquoise and met Cruisin' Nana in the Orange. Such a splendid, nice lady that I wish I'd seen her for more of the cruise and before the last day.

The Purple cabana is not there, nor is the Dark Blue, but I'm sure they will fix them soon. I will say that people were having a fine old time sitting on the decking of one missing cabana and using the shower! But all others were up and running and I have to say our friends, DH and I thought that was the high point of the trip.

Sad to see the vegetation in such bad shape, but time will heal that. But other than that, Half Moon Cay was just as I remembered except way too crowded.

Ziggy, once I've waded through my 300 pictures, I'll post a few and there are a couple of really nice shots of the Rotterdam and she was leaving Half Moon Cay ... your parents might like to have them.

Always good to go and always good to come home. More soon.
