First Cruise

I have finally booked & paid for my first cruise. It will be myself and my ds who is 22. We are soooo excited. We are booked on Carnival Liberty, W.C. departing Mar. 28th. I have researched this site and anything I can find. DS is always making fun of me but he will love me when he has the time of his life. I can not wait until I see my 1st sunset on deck (foo foo drink a must have). I am open to any advice. Am looking forward to meeting other cc cruisers. Can't wait to soak up some sun and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!:p

My best piece of advice is to sign up for the roll call for your cruise. Often there will be a get together and you can meet other cruisers from CC. At worst you can compare notes on what excursions folks are doing and get excited together.

Read up on your ports---libraries have guidebooks--so you'll be a "step ahead" of the game and will know what's available, how to get there, how much it will cost....

Don't feel you have to do EVERYTHING...just do what interests you! It's your vacation!

Great sunburns are amazingly common among northerners on a first cruise.

 

You might consider hitting a tanning booth for a couple of weeks before you sail.

 

You will still need SPF (xx), but anything you can do to keep from being lilly white will be a plus.

 

Besides the health implications, a major burn will impact the enjoyment of your first cruise. :cool:
