Gubby,

Thanks for the very nice comments. I have just returned from the Czech Republic and will be posting videos of Prague and the Spa town of Karlovy Vary within the next couple of weeks. Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and Karlovy Vary is the most famous Spa towns in Europe. Many of the river cruises offer a pre-cruise or post-cruise excursion to Prague.

Thanks again,

Ron

My travel video of Prague has been uploaded to Youtube. This video highlights many of the interesting sights of Prague including: Prague Old Town, Little Quarter, Prague Castel, St. Vitus’s Cathedral, St. George’s Convent, The Loreto, Golden Lane, Royal Palace, and the Old Jewish Quarter.

In my opinion, Prague is one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in Europe.

THANKS, Ron! Prague is of our most favorite cities, right up there with Paris, Copenhagen, Venice, etc. Love its architecture, people, character, history, etc. Your YouTube posting brings back some nice memories. Where are you headed for your next great adventure? Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Thanks very much for all for the nice comments about the Prague video. I have just uploaded another travel video from the Czech Republic.

The one features Karlovy Vary, a spa city situated in western Bohemia, Czech Republic, on the confluence of the rivers Ohře and Teplá, approximately 130 km west of Prague. It is named after King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, who founded the city in 1370. It is historically famous for its hot springs (13 main springs, about 300 smaller springs, and the warm-water Teplá River). In the 19th century, it became a popular tourist destination, especially for international celebrities visiting for spa treatment. The city has been used as the location for a number of film-shoots, including the 2006 films Last Holiday and box-office hit Casino Royale, both of which used the city's Grandhotel Pupp.

The travel videos I have uploaded to Youtube contain a wide verity of music accompanying the pictures. I would like to ask CC members to please give me their opinion on the musical selections. What is you favorite type of music? Which video contains music that best fits with the scenes pictured in the video?

I will appreciate any comments or suggestions you might have to make the videos more interesting. Thanks for you participation in my survey.

I have uploaded another South American video to my Youtube Channel. Highlights of Ushuaia include pictures from a Beagle Channel Catamaran Cruise and the Tierra del Fuego National Park. This was a Holland America sponsored shore excursion

:) Hope you found some gold in Dahlonega, because finding your video was like finding gold for us. Did you play the golf course? Thanks,

les

Hi Les,

I sent you a private email regarding the Ushuaia video. Thanks for the nice comments and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing my videos. As for the golf course, yes, we live in Achasta. It is quite challenging golf course. Have you played Achasta?

Enjoy your South American cruise,

Hello all,

This is a cry for help, it's time to start thinking about what to pack for this trip. I will be gone for about 16days in all and I do not know what is right to pack.:(

First question are there formal dress nights on this cruise? If so do anyone know how many if not then what kind of dress is best, I like to dress up a little but if every one is dressing down then I can go that way also.

So I will start with just this question for now, what kind of clothes do we need to pack for dinner's, we plan to use all the restaurants on the ship.

PLEASE help if you can, I have been on one other NCL ship and some dressed up but most did not, but this being a Mediterranean cruise do you think more people will dress up or down HELP:confused:

Thanks,

Linda

Linda,

The number of people who dress for formal night varies greatly depending on the destination of the cruise. Caribbean and Mexico cruises are generally the most casual whereas European cruises are usually the most formal, but there are exceptions.

Here is a link to a website that provides a wealth of information and will answer most of your questions regarding dress onboard the ship.

I hope this helps.

Happy Cruising,

Hi Michele,

Thanks for the nice comments on the videos. There are plenty of excursion boats available for tours of the Beagle Channel from Ushuaia. They dock on the same pier or nearby where the cruise boats dock. There are two piers in Ushuaia, so I don’t know which one you will be using. We docked on the same pier as the excursion boats and just walked across the pier. Here are a couple of links that will provide you with some information on Ushuaia, the Beagle cruises, and tours to Perito Moreno Glacier.

Info on Beagle Channel Cruises and Tours to Perito Moreno Glacier:

You can certainly expect the temperatures in the southern part of Chile and Argentina to be cooler than Alaska in July. As you can see from my videos we were dressed in sweaters, heavy coats, and hats. I suggest packing layer clothing, so that you can remove or add a layer based on the weather conditions upon arrival at each port. If you plan on spending any time on the outer decks with cruising in the Fjords or in Antarctica you will certainly need some warm clothing.

Have a great cruise,

Ron

Michele,

Our tour of Tierra de Fuego National Park and the Beagle Channel cruise was all included in the same shore excursion that was sponsored by Holland America. The National Park really wasn’t all that interesting, so I would just opt for the Beagle Channel cruise. I don’t think you would have time for the cruise and a tour the Perito Moreno Glacier.

Thanks very much for all of the nice comments about the travel videos I have posted on my Youtube Channel - CruzerToo. Some have commented how these videos brought back fond memories of past vacations. For many of you, the journey began on a Delta Air Lines L1011 flying to one of the gateway cities in the USA or to a foreign destination to start you cruise.

Of course, the L1011 was retired several years ago and no longer graces the airways with it’s beauty. I retired as a Captain on this wonderful aircraft and thought you might like to see a few clips of the ceremony known as the “Water Cannon Salute” that is given to each Captain on his final flight.

Ron -Loved that Beagle Catamaran video set to the Jimmy Buffet "Party at the End of World" song. It convinced me to take the Catamaran this Dec 13th when the NCL Sun spends 7 hours in Ushuaia. Rest assured I'll be on your You Tube site to check out Ports I've never been to for future cruises. So far we've done the Caribbean several times, Alaska, the Med 3 times, a couple X-Atl., and Tahiti & the Marquesas (and to think I once thought the Caribbean was paradise). Dan

I just recently returned from a tour of the Holy Land that included visits to some interesting sites in Egypt, the Sinai Peninsula, Jordan and Israel. The tour retraced the Exodus route of the Israelites from Egypt to Israel as told in the Bible. We then spent 9 days visiting many of the religious sites in Israel that included cities located along the along the Mediterranean Sea coast, around the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem.

Six videos containing pictures from this tour have been uploaded to Youtube. Click on the links below to view any of these episodes.

Ancient Journey Part I – The Exodus

Ancient Journey Part II – Mt. Sinai to Mr. Nebo

Ancient Journey Part III – Tel Aviv to Sea of Galilee
