NOLA_Cruiser88 Posted February 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Im going on a cruise shorty and I plan on proposing to my girlfriend on this cruise. I know there is a safe in the room but for obvious reasons I do not want to store the ring in there since she would see it nor do I want to carry it around. This is my first cruise so I have no idea what to expect. But is there another safe that I can use to store it? Ideas?
yogi2929 Posted February 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2009 The purser has a safe to use. But how would you get away from your soon-to-be to get the ring to them?

NOLA_Cruiser88 Posted February 12, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Im sure I would be able to sneak away for a few minutes.. If they have a safe at the purser that I can use then I would definitly rather use that than try to hide it in the cabin. I will have insurance on the ring but I dont want to lose the chance. Thanks :)

Exactly my thinking . . . and Congratulations.:) (make sure you propose near the end of the cruise)
Julz226 Posted February 12, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 12, 2009 I don't know but good luck! That's so romantic.
NOLA_Cruiser88 Posted February 12, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted February 12, 2009 (make sure you propose near the end of the cruise) Just curious about this statement? Didnt catch the sarcasm. I was thinking about doing it either on one of the formal nights or while at port at one of the islands.
TheVegasMan Posted February 12, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 12, 2009 From the FAQ's pages: For your convenience, all ships have in-stateroom safes. There is also a limited supply of safety deposit boxes at the Information Desk for storage of larger valuables. There is no charge, however there is a $50 refundable key deposit required. TheVegasMan Posted February 12, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 12, 2009 The purser has a safe to use. But how would you get away from your soon-to-be to get the ring to them? It's his girlfriend, not his Siamese twin.
NOLA_Cruiser88 Posted February 12, 2009 Author #10 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Ahh thanks.. An easy way to get around the ship without her would of course be to send her to the SPA! Just thought of one thing though.. I would carry it on of course but do they have security like Airport security? Would I have to empty my pockets in front of her? Ring is in a big ole Tacori box so that would be a bit obvious. I owuld probably propose on the first or second night on the aft deck just so the cruise could be more meaningful (no doubts about her saying yes)
readytogo813 Posted February 12, 2009 #11 Share Posted February 12, 2009 I want a Tacori ring!!! How nice! My boyfriend is so bad at keeping suprises that he would tell me the day he bought the ring! haha. I wish you the best!
NOLA_Cruiser88 Posted February 12, 2009 Author #12 Share Posted February 12, 2009 lol still havent gotten the ring in.. Takes them a month to make them specific for your diamond. But as you probably know the signature blue box is a big deal but its the size of half a brick so this isnt going to be easy. Going to be really interesting to see how I manage to walk around with it.. Thats why I want it in a safe as soon as possible.
Essiesmom Posted February 13, 2009 #13 Share Posted February 13, 2009 If you have it in your carryon, she shouldn't know, unless she does the packing for you...and the unpacking. You can lock it in the carryon and shove it under the bed. EM
