Emerald-early dining room / lounges / shows??

I have several questions about the Emerald...

-which dining room is used for the early dining and is it at 6:00 or 6:15

-what time are the evening shows

-which lounges do you recommend for a drink in the evening 7:30-10:00pm and to listen to music or have a dance

(and can you bring age 9-11 children along during these hours)

Botticelli DR is used for early traditional. On our sailing (Dec 2008) it was 6:15, but I think that time can differ based on your itinerary.

The production shows in the lounge were at 9:15 or 9:30. Other shows (comedians, etc.) began at varying times, usually between 8:30-9:30 hour.

For dancing, the Wheelhouse Bar has a live band (okay, that's redundant -- although we've all heard bands bad enough that one could legitimately wonder if the members were still breathing) and a nice-sized dance floor. Other venues with music but no dancing include Crooners -- the martini bar with a pianist, and Adagio -- a very quiet spot up on Deck 16 next to Sabatini's, with a pianist or duo (probably not suited for children -- I never saw any up there at night on my cruise). Adagio is my favourite. I don't think any of the bars are off-limits to kids, only the casino, although whether they'd be bored is another matter. There are kid's clubs activities in the evening -- those usually run from 7 to 10.

ALL the main dining rooms are open for early dining - 6:00 PM Botticelli (aft) is for Traditional, DaVinci and Micaelangelo are for Anytime dining.

Typically about 8 and 10. But check out the one page cruise summary in your cabin the first day - many shows are shown two nights and the first night early showing is usually full, while there is seating the second night.

Explorer's Lounge has dancing earlier in the evening and is big enough that you'll have no problem finding a table that will work for you, even if the children wanted to play cards or some other game. Also Wheelhouse Bar has dancing, but non-smoking seating can be limited.

Thanks for your info, so far. We do have early traditional so I will look for the location of the Bottechelli. We do also use the Children's club in the evenings but we also want the opportunity to enjoy some music and perhaps dancing as a family on occasion (but in a venue that is earlier, and would be okay for children for a short time). Tks.
