Port or Staboard? Please advise

Hi: We are hoping to book the Mediterranean Grand Princess cruise in October and would greatly appreciate input as to whether we should be on the port or starboard side for the best views pulling in and out of ports. Thanks so much.

Itinerary starts in Rome and goes to Naples, Athens, Ephesus, Istanbul, Mykonos, Cairo (Port Said) and Alexandria. Also, how do we find out where we dock vs. where we tender?

It would help to indicate stopping and starting points. As you are probably aware, once in a port, its a guess, you never know which way the ship will be pointed or where it will be berthed or anchored. With Europe many of the arrivals are really early, some of the departures may be later so that it may not matter for the most part. Some ports like Livorno and Civitavecchia are working ports and not very attractive for watching the arrival or departure.

It really dosent matter, the ships getinto port so early in the morning and leave usually when you are at dinner, the ports that we went to on the Brillance of the Seas, 8 I believe were not really that nice, most are working ports and not that great looking.
