mini review of the Splendour 4/22

Recommended Posts

4/22 - Got to terminal at 12:30pm. Parked at the Dolphin lot for 5 days ($50 covered). Long line at the terminal but we had a J/S so we got to use the line for suites/Platinum/Diamond. Super long line to the kiosk to take our pictures before boarding but a RCCL guy came through the general boarding line asking for C&A members and took a group of us to the front of the line so that we didn't have to wait at all!

Room: J/S aft cabin 8582. This was our first balcony and first aft cabin. Wonderful room! The balcony was huge and deep. We had 2 lounge chairs and a table. Room was in good shape.
Cabin attendant was Adrian. Super nice guy and extremely attentive. He did tell us about the "no turn down" the first night and it didn't bother me at all. He serviced us twice a day and did a great job.

Food: Windjammer is still not my favorite place to eat. The dining room does a far better job in quality and service. We had main seating and our waiter was Darwin. He bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. Food was good to excellent.

Ship: It is in good shape for its age. The vibration people have spoken of is there but it did not bother me.

Cozumel: snorkled with Eagle Ray Divers. It turned out DH & I were their only customers for Saturday so we had the boat to ourselves along with a divemaster who acted as our snorkle guide and the boat captain. They did a great job and would use them again. Dzul Ha was the best of the 2 snorkle locations.

Entertainment: Didn't see a who;e lot but friends at dinner said most of the productions were so-so. The bands were good that palyed in the centrum.

Deimbarkation: Once immigration FINALLY released the ship, we were off at 8:30am ( we were in the first group to get off)

Be glad to answer any questions.

Hey Sailor Moon,

We have the same cabin for Valentines day in 2005. We can't wait. A few questions if you have the time. Can you fit 1 or 2 regular chairs with the loungers on the balcony and is the table big enough for a small breakfast. Is there privacy on the balcony or do you have to go out of your way to look around the dividers. Is there really a walk-in closet? Any views down to your balcony from the 9th deck above you? Lastly, any pics of the cabin/balcony. Thanks for the review. jzloch1@tampabay.rr.com

There is room for 2 loungers and probably 2 regular chairs. The table is too small to hold breakfast. No real "privacy" on the balcony. The dividers have gaps under and at the side where they attatch to the wall. The divider is also a frosted glass, so you can see shapes of people on the next balcony. When you stand at the rail. people above and to the side can see you. You can look up and see people above you when standing at the rail. You can see to the water and see the turning wake from the engines. The back view is panaramic and awesome! Depending on the time of day there can be shade or full sun. I don't have pictures but I wish I were still there!!!
