truvaneli Posted March 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 3, 2009 I have booked a snorkeling excursion in Nassau through Norwegian. How does this work? Does the cruise line organize the departure to the snorkeling boat so that we all arrive at the excursion as a group, or are we on our own to find our way to the excursion meeting place? bakerintn Posted March 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2009 If tendering, all of the excursions through NCL will meet together, grouped. by the specific excursion. You will then be escorted to the tender and leave as a group. If at the dock, you may either do that or meet on the pier --- there will be signs for each excursion. lukes Posted March 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 3, 2009 To answer your question simply, the cruise line will arrange all of transportation requirements to participate in the excurision. Nassau is a docking port. There is a spot on the pier right beside the cruise ship where all excurisions meet and are organized. They will have signs for each excurision. You will meet your guide here on the pier. From there you will either walk straight to some kind of boat for the snorkel or you will walk to a bus that will take you to the snorkel boat. Upon return transportation will be reversed and you will end up back on the pier beside the ship.
macdadsjaw Posted March 3, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2009 First get a second mortgage on your house, grab ankles....... If your just going to a beach to sit around, do some research and you can take a cab to the beach on your own, share one with some other people. Unless your going somewhere crazy, you'll have no problem......
Budget Queen Posted March 3, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2009 In Nassau, of ship snorkling excursions, by far one of the best is Athol Island, compared to their other snorkle trips. Although the descriptions sound "good", over all the other snorkling is lacking. With NCL likely docking, and not tendering, you will be WALKING around the marina to the snorkle boat. You will meet as an assigned area and walk over as a group. Last time, I went, the meeting area was on the dock.
CruisnGram Posted March 3, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 3, 2009 I have booked a snorkeling excursion in Nassau through Norwegian. How does this work? Does the cruise line organize the departure to the snorkeling boat so that we all arrive at the excursion as a group, or are we on our own to find our way to the excursion meeting place? You will be docked in Nassau, no tendering, so you will meet on shore. You will have a ticket for your excursion which will tell you your meeting place. Most likely right around the gangway area after you exit the ship. There will be lots of people waiting there to take various tours, so just hang there until you see someone with a sign for your tour. CG
truvaneli Posted March 3, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted March 3, 2009 Thank you so much, Guys! I was worried about how I was going to maneuver around Nassau with two kids trying to catch some snorkeling boat. I'm glad they take the work out of it. It IS vacation .... Thanks, Budget Queen, for letting me know that Athol Island is the preferred snorkeling excursion. I booked that one. I was thinking about canceling and booking Seahorse Sail and Snorkel, but I think I'll stick with Athol now.
