Does Kantika di Amor water taxi get reserved by cruiseships

We were thinking of taking a watertaxi to Klein, however the earliest time we can get with our cruise is 3:30pm - 6:30p.m. We would really like to do a tour of the salt flats/slave huts, mangroves etc. but would prefer to do Klein in the earlier part of the day. Is the Amor water taxi, used by the cruise ships or can one just show up and take this? I have read mixed reviews about the water taxis being all taken up by the cruiseships, and then there is no possiblilty of going to Klien. Also can you return when you want, or do you have to advance book your return time home? Thanks so much.
