Day Pass @ Marriott OR Chair & Umbrella Rental?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if you're able to just rent an umbrella and chair(s) from the Marriott for a few hours with plans on only using the beach, or is a day pass required in order to be able to rent umbrella/chairs?

Thanks for any info!

Would like to know this one too, because I read on the Carnival tread that you don't have to pay to go to this hotel

Just talked to the front desk at the Marriot and was told it was $75-$95 to get a daypass. He said not only do you have use of the facilities but it also comes with a room for the day.

I paid $65 for a day pass at the Marriott....for 4 people, with tax it was $77. Well worth it, you get a room and each person gets a coupon for $10 in slot play...my mother won $120, it was great and a wonderful day on the beach!

We were there on March 25th.

Do you reserve the day pass in advance and if so do you just email them?

They told me no reservations are necessary. Just stop by the front desk.

i was there in march09...Dont bother stopping by the desk at all. Just walk through the hotel...go through the pool area and walk onto the beach.

we all got little hatched roof umbrella huts and chairs were also free.

nobody stopped us, nobody walked over to ask us anything.

spent about 4 hours then returned to our ship.

Taxi: we asked how much..he told us $2.50PP but he thought there was 4 of us..then changed to $10 for the ride

have fun!

*sweet*

Was it $77 per person or for all 4? The way I am reading it it is for all 4 people. Thanks

Also, does anyone know what beach this is on and how far from the port? Taxi coast?

The Marriott is on North Frigate Beach which is on the Atlantic side. It's about 10 minutes from the port and a taxi will run you about $20 USD.

Do you know how to get in contact with them for this deal?

I just called Marriott reservations and they called the hotel for me. Like wildscape said they do offer day passes at $65. They said you could not book it in advance but just walk up to the desk and ask. You get a room and the facilities to use for the day. Good to know they still offer this deal.:)

We were there in December and we took a taxi, $10 for 4 people to the Mariott, not per person, just $10 for all of us.

We walked into the hotel and then right out the back side to the pool and beach, we also had a hut thing and chairs, no cost.

They do have servers come out with drinks.

The piano player on the Miracle, Laurie Ann Gardner told us about this place, she said all the ship staff go....she actually met us and took the cab over with us. And sure enough pretty soon alot of the ship staff showed up.

Great place

Sue

I called the Marriott a couple of weeks ago and they told me $30 for the day pass only. $65 if you want a room. They recommend reservations if you want a room, but said reservations are not necessary of you just want the day pass. We were planning on doing the $30 deal, but I like the idea of FREE even better so I think we'll try the walk-right-through-the-lobby-to-the-pool-and-beach technique. If we are asked to pay a fee, we'll pay it. Thanks so much for the info.

When we went to the Marriott on our cruise last May, it was so windy we couldn't stay on the beach, so we left before paying for a pass. Was the wind a fluke..... or is it often extremely windy, since the beach is on the Atlantic side of the island? We'll be back in St. Kitts next April and I would like to know if it's worth trying again. :)

Has anybody gone to the Marriott during a more busy period? We'll be in St. Kitts on December 29th, which I'd imagine is a busy time for them. Will they still accept a day visitor? Has anybody been there during Christmas/New Year's time?

The Marriott in the past years has not allowed anyone excepts guest on the property during the Christmas/New Year holiday period.

I think anyone who pays $30 to just use a chair and umbrella at Marriott's beach is crazy!!! It's a public beach after all and I'm a firm believer of just walking in and acting like you have every right to be there. I've done it several times. While you are there enjoying the beautiful beach and scenery, buy a drink or two and support the local economy.:)

You have every right to be there on a public beach, on your towel and buy drinks by all means.

You don't have the right to stiff the Marriott and their employees (locals you mention supporting) who get paid from revenue generated including the amenities rented there. Plus the money goes for upkeep of the "public" beach area views you enjoy and replacing chairs/ repairing palapas, etc.

We always go to the Marriott. We check in for a day pass and get a room. It runs about $65/ day including the room. I suppose that you can walk through and use the beach but if you use the facilties reserevd for guests without paying for them, you're trespassing. I play by the rules but I guess you can just take what you want and see if you get caught.

I'm with Mary on this question. I'd like to be able to use the chairs, the beach service, the pool, bathrooms, etc. without feeling like I'm taking something that I'm not entitled to. If I just wanted to use the beach, that's fine, but once I start using the pool, bathrooms, etc. that's a different thing.

$65 for the day runs me $13 per person for my family of 5. (I called and they told me the room is for 4 people but my kids didn't count.) I paid that much for lounge chairs & umbrellas at other beaches we've traveled to, without having access to a room for a shower or nap, or to a pool & swim-up bar if I wanted a change of scene.

My main concern is that if I reserve it ahead of time and it's cloudy or cool, I'll be out the money, and if I don't reserve it, I'm running up against holiday crowds and may not get the room.

I just got off the phone with Keshaw at the Marriott. He confirmed that a day pass is $35 person, and allows "complimentary" use of the beach, 3 pools, beach chairs, and towels. You also receive a $10 free spin in the casino, a $10 match play in the casino, one free alcoholic or non alcoholic drink, and 15% off any additional food or beverages you may want to purchase.

I'm thinking that hanging out by the big huge pool might be fun, and if it gets too hot the casino is - I think - within easy walking distance. My wife and I are already on 3 excursions on a 7 night cruise, and this seems like it might be a nice "relax" day with no hassles.

Or is there something that is a MUST SEE on St. Kitts ??

Mary, I've had a one person business for 26 years and work with a lot of businesses who are trying not to lay off people right now and finding ways to save $ or generate revenue. Successful businesses mean employment and success for employees.

Plus I've read Atlas Shrugged LOL
