We are hoping to take the enPatagonia tour this fall on our cruise, but their website is "down". Can you tell me if they are still in business and give me contact information please?

We must be on the same ship Zaandam as we'll be at Puerto Chacabuco on the same date. I am also looking for a tour. The enPatogia website is back up. I just sent them a email. We can get a group together in Roll call if things look acceptable.

lI am new at this 'forum' so I hope this reaches you.

 

My wife and I are arriving in Pto Chacabuco on Dec 4th at 8 a.m. on the HAL 'Zandam. We would love a walking tour with you that day. Is that a possibility for you.

We will be in port on dec 26 2014. We dock at 8am and depart at 5pm. We will ge on HAL Zaandam andwill be tendered into port.

 

We would love to have a walking tour with you.

We are a party of 4 who will be arriving in Pto Chacabuco with the HAL Zandaam on Thursday, NOvember 27th, 2014, for 8 hours total.

I have read your posts, so I am taking the liberty of asking a few questions and would appreciate your input.

1. Is it possible to book a taxi ahead of time to take us from the port through the Simpson River Valley, maybe all the way to Coyhaique and back? If so, are there fixed prices? How much, approximately. And how much time would this trip take.

2. We heard that Juani Salinas is connected with entertainment - Chilean singing and dancing. I emailed him twice but he did not respond. Is this worthwhile going to? Do you know of any other way to contact Juani?

3. And last but not least we were hoping to include your kind offer and hear from you about what life is like in Chacabuco.

We realise that all this may be too ambitious.

We would like your advice about what is less worthwhile: for instance, maybe going to Coyhaique does not warrant the time and effort.

A month or two ago when we booked a Dec 2014 cruise including Pto Chacabuco I found this thread and went online in search of Paul. I believe he may have relocated to New England (USA) to be closer to family. Tried to find that info again just now and haven't, yet...apologies:o

Hi, have you looked at the possibility of a tour with Enpatagonia. We took a tour with them along the Simpson River, where we saw Condors overhead, and we also saw a couple of waterfalls too, before having a great lunch at a small farm which consisted of a couple of delicious Empanadas, a meat one and a cheese and ham one. It was preceded by a lovely freshly baked starter which was accompanied by a plentiful supply of local wine too. They also provided piped music to accompany local dancers dressed in lovely costumes who gave a demonstration of traditional Chilean dances. It did cost $105 each earlier this year. They may need to get a minimum number of passengers to make the trip viable. On the HAL Zaandam Roll Call we were on we managed to fill 2 x16 seater buses

We visited Chacabuco in March this year and it was one of the best private tours we did. Here is the link http://www.enpatagoniatours.cl/tour.html

Our guides were great, several stops along the way, info on history, geology, life style etc Brilliant lunch out at a small farm in the campo, absolutely delicious roast lamb cooked asado style and some local dancers giving a performance.

I don't think not having lunch at the campo is an option on this tour. Obviiosly if you;re vegetarian it would be a problem. The lamb was delicious as were the empanadas, people joined in with the dancing it was a fun experience. There were LLamas, etc on the farm.

there were no extras to pay on the tour un, less you wanted to buy some honey at the farm house, everything was organic.

Just another vote for ENPATAGONIA. We took the tour when Prinsendam was there. It was one of the best tours we did. The lunch at the farm house is outstanding. The guide was British, so there was no problem with trying to understand what she was saying. There were two small buses to handle the group and there was no problem with overcrowding...John

As I wrote previously, unfortunately we cannot partake of their outstanding lunch. So we were looking to do a tour with a car and driver - what is called a "remis".

If anyone has good experience with a tour like this, and a phone number to call in PUerto Aysen to book a remis (if they understand English, even better), I would appreciate it.

Would love to escort you and your friends around Chacabuco, our humble little town with lots of trucks. Your choice of restaurants at 5 star or a la chilena. The park is private and you have to take a cruise tour to partake. However you can rent a taxi for $14 and hour to take you where you want to go. Looking forward to seeing you. Pray for a sunny day.

Hi there,

We took a tour with Ann. Quite steep in price.

Puerto Chacabuco is a very small town. Getting off the boat you can walk it yourself. It's right there.

And I would take a taxi to see the sights in the national park - much cheaper than a tour. We were told that there would be very few taxis there. They are there! They also want ti earn some money.

Are you still offering to share your town on foot with cruise passengers? We are a party of four in our 70's (strong and healthy!) arriving on Norwegian Cruise Lines on March 11 at 7:00 a.m. We would definitely opt for the simple restaurant as a place to eat. We really wanted to do the river and waterfall walks in the park but I gather from you that that can only be done on a ship's tour and we're deathly allergic to those (and they're expensive!)!
