Need to lose before I cruise... any buddies??

What a great group of supportive people. I am joining up. My name is Connie, live in Vegas, have way too much to lose, but will get started, cruise is scheduled for September, and mostly would like to be able to wear a few of the things I already own. Will go weigh in now and plan on updating everyone every Wed. (seems like as good a day as any.):cool:

What eating plan and exercise plan are you using?

BTW....My DH loves Vegas are you close to the strip?

Welcome Vegas-C. Wow - live in Vegas. It is one of my favorite places to vacation. By the way Vickey I could not believe it when you told us of your vacation/birthday surprise. This is wonderful! After cruising, Vegas is my second favorite place to visit. Where do you stay? What kind of things do you like to do there?

 

I went out last October for a short one. We try to go once a year. I was hoping to go this spring but it looks doubtful.

 

Everyone STAY OUT of the Easter candy. Concentrate on the hard boiled eggs instead. Seriously, everyone have a safe and happy holiday. Be checking in throughout the weekend.

Marsha.....My DH loves Vegas we are not big gamblers but manage to get free deals all the time( I use to go to Vegas with my twin aunts who are High Rollers and somehow I got put on the list:D)

We go about 2 times a year usually in March and Sept. We have stayed at Luxor,Excalibur, MGM,Bally's, Golden Nugget, Tropicana, and South Point. This time we are staying at Treasure Island.

Waiting to win enough to stay at The Wynn or Bellagio:)

We like to sight see and people watch, we do manage to get in a few shows and of course EAT but this time I am hoping to change that habit.

Funny you should mention the Easter Candy as we just had an Easter egg hunt for the residents where I take care of several patients and I found myself eating 2 mini candy bars without realising I did it.

 

Really disappointed with my weigh in at my biggest loser group last night. This has been my best week yet for eating(or so I thought) and I started water aerobics this week and I only lost 1/2 pound. I have been losing between 2 to 3 pounds a week.

 

Don't be dissappointed a loss is a loss and starting a new exercise sometimes can alter your weight so next week it will show a bigger loss. Stay Encouraged,keep motivated and you will be the biggest loser.

I have 101 days till my cruise. I am trying to get to 180 by then. I am currently at 200. I was at 195 but then we had our birthdays come up (which meant dinners and cake).

 

I have a weakness for sweets and have been trying very hard to avoid them. I have also given up drinking pop. I drink about 2 liters if not more of water a day and also drink slimfast for breakfast.

 

So lets do this:

 

SW: 200

LW: n/a

CW: 200

GW: 180

 

I am cruising on the Carnival Valor, July 19th, 2009 for my honeymoon with my fiancee. We are very excited and I want to look my best for the honeymoon/wedding.

 

Guess i will break down what I plan to do for my workout. I have a boot camp dvd from the Biggest Loser, that I have been doing for a week now. I also go to the gym at least 3 times a week and work on the elliptical as well as lift weights. I also am going to be golfing more and also running at the soccer fields.

I just didn't post because I was trying not to weigh myself cause I always get very dissapointed if I don't lose any weight. But now I've been weighing myself pretty regularly so I decided to post! My cruise is September 19th for my birthday which is September 21 Yay!!! So my goal is to loose 45lbs before the cruise to be 130lbs! So thats pretty much 2 pounds a week which is definitely possibe!!! So hopefully I can stick to this and finally get to my Ultimate goal weight!!!

 

 

Starting Weight................2/21/09: 195

Current Weight.................4/10/09: 175

Goal Weight for my Cruise...9/19/09: 130

My Ultimate Goal weight.....11/1/09: 125

Your goal wt by your cruise is definitely doable. You already lost 20# in less than 2 months, congratulations! Are you working a certain program like WW's or Southbeach, etc, or just counting calories.

What are you looking for in measurements?

 

I am 5'10"

 

Matt.......we measured:

Neck

Upper arms

Chest

Waist

Thighs

Calves

But you can add any measurements you want my DH only measured his arms,chest and belly(he doesn't have a waist yet:D)

My problem isn't grandkids...mine is my patients and their family have been treating me with goodies. I tried sharing but the more I shared the more I got.:confused:

Now I just have to get past Sunday and get back to eating healthy.

I too get frustrated and disappointed in myself when I don't lose any but this time around I made a promise to myself to just try and o the very best I can and to focus on eating healthier and to exercise and then the rest will fall in place. I found that I am losing more inches than lbs.

You are off to a good start and will definetly be at your cruise weight.

What a wonderful birthday gift.

Do you want to post your measurements(we are doing this just once a month at the first of the month)

Welcome Vegas, I wish I was in your town right now. It would be warmer than it is here in Montreal ;)

 

Vickey, what a nice birthday gift from your DH!!! Hope you have a nice trip!

 

As for me, I had an abdominal scan and the doctors still don't know what is wrong with me :mad: Next step is a gastroscopy and a coloscopy :eek::eek:

 

I have to talk with the doctor to schedule these tests. I just hope it will be soon.

 

In the mean time, DH will give me massages to ease the tensions so I can keep on walking without to much pain. I think I did loose a little since I practicly did not eat for about two days to prepare myself for the scanner and I walked for several hours yesterday in the hospital. Walking is less painful than sitting down.

 

Tomorrow, I intend to go to the store to get myself a scale. I have waited long enough!!!

Scale buying what a wonderful way to spend the day:D

I know you will be greatly thrilled and surprised to see the weight you have lost. But also remember stress can cause a halt to weight loss and god knows you have been under your share lately.

Hello everyone! Thanks for the warm welcomings I have gotten!!! I'm really excited to lose weight with everybody here!!!

 

I think i'm doing more of a calorie count but I'm not really counting. I'm just trying to eat five small healthy meals a day with a protein and a carb which as before I would wake up and skip breakfast and lunch and eat a big meal around 3pm and that would be my only meal :/ That was very bad!

 

Unfortunatly last night I had a really bad night! I went out with some friends and drank beer :/ I did get light... Thats my biggest weekness is going out and drinking!!!

 

Keep up all the great work guys and soon we'll all be skinny winnys!!!

My husband just gave me an idea, I got my scale through my air rewards plan. The choice of rewards is very big. I also got myself a cooking item. So I will get my scale in a little while, I saved some money and when I'll do my weight in, I hope I get a very nice surprise :) In the mean time, here are my measurments Waist : 39.5 inchs, Hips : 39.5 inchs. I gained about 5 inches in my waist :( :( :( I will go back on the treadmill tomorrow!!! This is really, really bad!!!!!!!

Off to work...but Vickey please put today's weight at 220. I am not overly excited about only one pound loss but it is a loss! Everyone have a good Monday and I will check back later.
