Hi Radio!

I was walking across the Brooklyn Bridge this afternoon at about 4:15 and saw the ship just as she was passing the Statue of Liberty!!! I was so excited both that I saw the ship and that I "knew" someone on it!!! I took a few photos but it was really cloudy. I've never uploaded photos on this site--but I'll try so you can see the ship from a different vantage point! Anyway, have a wonderful cruise--this just made my day!

As you can see I haven't figured out how to get the photo up...I'll keep trying and hopefully you'll see it someday soon!

I'm not sure about mermaid etiquette but can you take Robbie's picture??

The second best thing Robbie loves next to having charms brought to her is having her picture taken.

Radio, you rock!

Radio~ Wow, wow, wow! What a wonderful service you are providing to us all. May you be blessed with warm weather, calm seas, and GOOD food. Myself and family will be sailing on this "gem" of a ship in three weeks. I look forward to your updates and photos! It will feel like I have vacationed twice! I will be traveling with a little one (3 year old) and would appreciate any advice on where to eat with low traffic. Waiting is really not his best skill.....yet! Also what type of food can you get at the Bali Hai? Can't wait for your next post!!!!!!!

Hello everyone ! We had very smooth seas last night, and the it was a little cold outside.

The Welcome Aboard show was packed, and I think we are in store for a lot of great entertainment this week.

The Comedy and Magic of Bob and Sarah Trunell was very good, and I think they will be on again later in the week.

Today there will be a lot of activities. There will be a Cruise Critic Meet and Greet, an the Magenta MDR at 11, and the

Monte Carlo Night Party will be tonight at 1030. They are also having the Port /Shopping talk today at 3 in the Spinnaker

Lounge up on Deck 13.

Gem is offering 50% off several of the specialty dining venues tonight (La Cucina, Tequila, Orchid Garden, & Le Bistro)

They started a special on this cruise for photos. . .They now have the Photo Frenzy, where you can all photos

that are taken by NCL for $89. Wow ! That is a great deal. I think that NCL has listened to passenger concerns

about photo prices.

We are currently off of the coast of North Carolina, and it is sunny and 55f. The forecast is for

calm seas, and temps up to 73f this afternoon.

I woke up early today, (clocks moved ahead last night), and here are a few pics from this morning.

More pics later. . . Thanks for tuning in !

These video boards are great. . .you can easily see if the dining areas are full or not.

The restaurants are included in your cruise fare, the Specialty restaurants are additional.

Radio, you are AWESOME! :D I will be on the Gem, first time, in 9 weeks, and I am so excited to see all these fabulous pics! The 2-fer dining specials is good news for me, and the $89 photo special sounds like a steal! I had planned to limit my photo buying to 1 ( ), because of the pricing, but I may have to splurge and get them all now!

I have a request, please! How 'bout some food porn?!? Pictures of buffets, or servings from some the dining rooms...where are you eating tonight? :D:D:D

Hello everyone. .

Today was a very nice day with great weather. It was a little windy, but we are in the Atlantic Ocean. . .heading south at over 20 knots.

I went to the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet, down at Magenta Dining Room, and it was nice to put a face with all of the Cruise Critic screen names I have been chatting with for a few weeks.

I met a lot of great people, and it was very nice of CC Member Goldmom to set up our Meet and Greet. Thanks Goldmom. . . It was great to meet you and your husband !

Captain Michael Hilden, Hotel Director Prem Kainikkara, Cruise Director Ray Carr were there with a number of the other Officers, and Managers from the Gem.

They answered questions, and were extremely friendly to all of us. It is easy to see that Prem really loves his job.

He might be the most dynamic, and energy filled Hotel Director you may ever meet. It is no wonder why he has been placed on the Flagship of the NCL Fleet.

Tonight is NCL’s Monte Carlo Night, and the ship has been talking it up. I gues I must go to that event. . . (I took a nap today, so I can stay up a little later)

I have reservations to Orchid Garden tonight, an am looking forward to it. I have heard great reviews on the service and food quality.

The Casino is calling me now. . . I will try to post again later tonight.

Yes, hubby is a high roller, I'm a medium player. Harrahs has offered us cruises before, but hubby is not a big cruise fan. We each received a cabin, so we are bring some friends along, that was the only way I could get him to go.

Looking forward to next Saturday.
