jennswim77 Posted March 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2009 When is a good time to buy your cruise? Do the prices usually go up as you near the sail date or go down?
melika091900 Posted March 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2009 it all depends, if the ship isnt getting full, usually a few months before it might drop , we usually book 6 mo in advance,, or less our current cruise was originally 1299 and i waited and booked it 4 mo before and it dropped to 699.. so if the ship is getting real full, they might charge more but if it isnt getting full then the prices could drop quick , and not for long so if you see a good deal, book it usually they will do a price adjustment if the prices do drop, depending how you booked it hope this helps
Putterdude Posted March 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2009 We book as soon as the itinerary is published, at least 18 mos out. That way we get the cabin we want then we watch for price reductions.:D
Treven Posted March 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Ditto, I book as soon as I can, 12-18 months out. This way I can pay off the cruise monthly - I refuse to put it on plastic. I then book my airlines ticket 3-4 months in advance.
DisneyCruiser83 Posted March 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 11, 2009 We either book onboard or as soon as the dates are published, about 12-18 months out. Like the other posters, we like to choose our room and make payments. Also, you or your TA can work out a price drop if one occurs. Happy planning!
