Not being let back on the ship?

O.K. on some of these threads you read about not being let back on the ship? Just thinking why they would not let someone back on? Maybe medical reasons? I don't know but would love to hear your ideas. If you got on the ship to start your cruise why would they stop you when you are in port? Just curious to hear some of the reasons. Lost your S & S card while in port?

There was a woman allowed to board in Nassau on our last cruise. Something happened (not sure exactly, just hear-say) and she was "removed" via ambulance after the ropes were already pulled in and we were ready to leave. Not 60 seconds after the ambulance pulled off we set sail. so medical problems wouldd be a good reason. Carnival doesn't want the chance of a lawsuit....

this reminded me of what I witnessed while standing in line at nassau. We were in line to go back thru nassau customs/security to get back on the ship. well the gentlemen were asking to see your picture ID and your S&S cards when all of the sudden the lady in front of us yells at her husband "I need what?!? That's on the table in our cabin!" Made me wonder just how the heck she got OFF the ship in the first place. You have to have it for the boing machine lol. He had to go back to the ship alone leaving her sitting there alone waiting. guess it was a good thing we weren't running close to departure time.....

My fiance and I were in Cozomel and we had to leave either a driver license or credit card as a deposit for our snorkeling gear...so i decided to leave her S&S card (I didn't want to use our credit card in case we forgot to get it back) well, we forgot! lol (saw that coming) so when it was time to go back to the ship, of course they asked for the S&S card at the fence and she didnt have hers , so they had to radio the ship and confirm she is a passenger on the ship, 5 minutes later we were walking to the ship....:o

another reason why the take your picture when you first arrive on the ship. some people leave their drivers license on board. this way they can easily ID you on the spot

Several years ago we witnessed several underaged youth being carried back to the ship in Cozumel due to the fact they had been Carlos and Charlied. Stone cold passed out. Security refused their reentry, and they were left on the dock as we sailed away. Mexican police was on the scene and I can't even begin to imagine how that all worked out.

Last year when the Liberty stopped in Ocho Rios we were returning to the ship. Not far behind were a young couple who we had heard from others were smoking some illegal substance in their cabin the evening prior. When the couple tried to board they were handed their luggage. They were left ton the pier with the woman sobbing. I am not sure if that was why they were denied re entry.

I would not be happy with my child if this happened!

Boy, video of them regaining consciousness later would have been absolutely priceless.:D

Speaking of priceless "missed the ship" video, check out these women reboarding an RCL ship at sea after missing it at a port in Greece. The passengers aboard are literally heckling them:

what exactly are you saying?

that no one is ever allowed reentry onto a cruise ship

or that you just don't believe what they are saying??!?!

I'm exactly and very precisely saying that I find it quite unreal

just how irresponsible and clueless many people are

in this world of 2009!

You're going ashore in a foreign land, fer cryin out loud.

sooooo...

She left her S&S card in the cabin? Hellooo!?

(that's just one case!) :D

I must be exceedingly well organised, by comparison!

No..that can't be it...

I'm quite sure these stories are real, despite being quite surrealistic and UNreal.

THAT's what I'm trying to get my diminished intellect around! :D

The folks in the cabin next to us trashed their cabin -- as in pulled the bunks off the walls

and somehow dismantled the toilet -- and were not allowed to board again in St. George's, Bermuda.

Awww... that's a cryin shame.

They were just having a lil fun. :(

Here comes Clueless again! ;)

So glad they got stuck in Bermuda.

Honest to God...the stories you hear!!

You should have seen the cabin ... it was like something out of a Motley Crue documentary.

Wow! That video was funny! I think I'm going to have to pay more attention to what's going on when the ship is getting ready to leave the ports. I usually get back on the ship and do something inside. On our next cruise, coming up in 1 month (Yea!:D), we're going to have a balcony room for the lst time ever. I think I'll grab a glass of wine and sit out there to see what happens! Who knows, this may be more entertaining than what's going on inside the ship!;)

It's not half as embarrassing as the guy who got kicked out of a Mötley Crüe video for re-arranging the set to look like a cruise ship cabin!

(although the look on Tommy Lee's face was priceless)

Just when you think you've heard or seen it all something comes along and blows you away...again...;)...I am always flabbergasted at some of the stories I read but them I end up meeting someone who has experienced it and it always blows my mind...again...;)...just can't believe some of the "naivete" (for lack of a nicer word) of some people...

Trust me, it is! That is one of the most enjoyable pasttimes on the ship!

We were getting back onto the ship in Jamaica last year. As we stood in line some IDIOT was bragging about scoring some "ganja" while on the island. And he was obviously either drunk, stoned or both. As he was joking about how he had drugs ON HIM (was he a moron or what?) all of a sudden about 6 port security people swooped down on him and took him someplace. Don't know what happened... if he made it on or not. I am thinking NOT.
