chrislcruise Posted March 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2009 We are considering the San Francisco/San Francisco cruise to Alaska July 20th. What will the seas be like? We have never sailed in the Pacific and wonder if it will be rough. Thanks.
kvisf Posted March 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2009 We cruised Alaska from Vancouver to San Francisco in September a few years ago on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner (a somewhat bigger ship, I believe). We enjoyed good weather and mostly calm seas in Alaska. The inside passage was placid as a lake (no pun intended). On the sprint to San Francisco from Seattle we were on open sea and hit a substantial early Fall storm. All outside decks were locked off and very few passengers were outside their suites -- it was literally difficult to keep one's feet. That said, it was only one night.
