Kethry88 Posted March 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2009 We just recently booked a cruise and ended up in Anytime dining, waitlisted for Early Traditional. One of the people cruising with us is diabetic, and he's better able to regulate his blood sugar if he has regular dining times, esp. for dinner. If we end up with the Anytime dining, is it possible to reserve a table ahead of time in the Anytime dining rooms, say for 6pm or so? This is our first time cruising on a line that offers anything other than traditional.

tinkerbell_2 Posted March 15, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 15, 2009 we were #6 on the wait list and never made it to the main dining room. We did however speak with the MD on day one (around 2:30 PM) and he gave us a reserved table in the anytime dining room for 6:00 PM. We worked out wonderful! Our table and waiters were perfect, and couldn't have been happier!
1 HappyCruiser Posted March 15, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2009 People who dine before 6 PM hardly ever have to wait any length of time to get a seat in the AD room. The long lines that you keep reading about are those that want to dine between 6 & 8 PM.
paul929207 Posted March 15, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2009 We were on the Star Princess last year for 5 weeks. After about 1 week, we made a reservation for a table for two for 7:30 for the rest of the cruise. It was very easy.
sunsurf Posted March 15, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 15, 2009 Talk with the MD upon embarkation, he will make the necessary arrangements. :) pls pls pls do this! We had a bit of an issue trying to reserve a certain table --long story short we were bounced between the dining resrvation girl (who was really quite rude) & the MD. Not a great experience with CS this time around.

If you do a standing daily reservation you can likely get the same table and waiter crew too. All the goodness of traditional but at your time ;) If you ask between 7-8pm that is likely more difficult. enjoy our cruise

You shouldn't have a problem if you want to eat at 6pm every night since the dining room will just be filling up at that time and you won't have to wait for previous diners to finish. Reservations are not taken between 6pm - 8pm.
kooljamming Posted March 15, 2009 #10 Share Posted March 15, 2009 On our cruise we were offered reservation for 6:30. We wanted 7 pm but it was booked for that time. There wasn't a block out time because others I met had the early reservation. Also I could ONLY get table for 2 even thought we asked to be seated with a large group. Thay are consistently, inconsistent.
