babba Posted March 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 19, 2009 I am thinking about booking an April 2009 cruise aboard the RCI Grandeur Of the Seas. Several Questions please: What time is "late" dining. even though we prefer early that is the only one available? Do I stand a chance at being wait listed for early dining? What time is the show for those who have late dining? Thanks in advance ... Barb
Tanker4 Posted March 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 19, 2009 I am thinking about booking an April 2009 cruise aboard the RCI Grandeur Of the Seas. Several Questions please: What time is "late" dining. even though we prefer early that is the only one available? Do I stand a chance at being wait listed for early dining? What time is the show for those who have late dining? Thanks in advance ... Barb When we were on her recently Main (early) seating was at 5:30pm and Second seating was at 8:00pm. The showtimes for second seating was at 6:30pm and for main seating was at 8:30pm. This was a 10 day cruise out of Tampa in Dec. These times (especially for Main seating) were earlier than we had previously experianced on Grandeur as I recall Main seating started at 6:15pm. Don't know what the difference was and if they are still starting at 5:30 or not.
vickiw0318 Posted March 19, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2009 I asked about My Time Dining for our June Grandeur cruise and was told that it would be available, but that the reservation system for it wouldn't be up and running until after the 1st of May. The MTD number is 800-590-6218 if you'd like to ask about this option.
PH8 Posted March 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2009 Been awhile since I took the GR outta Tampa.........how long does it take to get to the Skyway bridge?? If I recall, 90 mins or so???
concour Posted March 20, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 20, 2009 We were on the GOS a few months ago and the late seating was 8:30. There was a long line the first day with people trying to get early seating. Late seating was 25-30% vacant during the entire cruise. Our waiter said that this was normal for certain cruises. When the cruisers are older they tend to eat early and if they can not get first seating they eat in the WindJammer. Bill

QLUVS2CRUZ Posted March 20, 2009 #11 Share Posted March 20, 2009 We are on Grandeur in April and have late dining starting at 8:30PM. We really want early, so we will try to go see the Maitre'D and get it changed, though the line will probably be long!
