ATM bank Charges?

rome2009

Recommended Posts

WF charges $5 per foreign transaction -- includes both foreign bank and WF charges. Your bank should be able to tell you -- call them. Also remember that conversion charges apply -- about 3% of the wholesale rate on that date.

Can anyone tell me what the banks in Europe charge on their end for ATM withdrawals? I know what my bank will charge, but what is the average when using an ATM in one of the European Ports?

I don't exactly remember the fees we paid in July, 2005, but I do know that we took out as much as possible each time so that we had less transactions (and fees). I think we paid between $3.50 and $5.00 US each time for all fees.

The best part is that you get a much better exchange rate doing it this way. If you have left over money at the end of your vacation, try to avoid exchanging money at the airport. They usually have the worst rates!
