Hi rmkw,

Can you give me any hints/ideas as to the Dawn Princess destination for September/October 2010 - I've looked absolutely everywhere with no luck.....Princess have informed me that they will not release this info until about May/June/July - that seems a long time away (probably not), particularly if I have to start putting away the $$$.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Vicki.

Hi Vicki

I can only find the Dawn up to August 2010, when it finishes the world cruise. I am "patiently" waiting for December 2010 itineries, or the October 2010 school holidays, but I guess I will have to be patient for a while longer.

Hi Simone,

Thanks for your info. I have also seen the World Cruise up until August 2010. I have been on the Sydney Port Authority website and they say the Dawn Princess is leaving Sydney 26 September and getting back on into Sydney on 9 October - 2 weeks of the school holidays, also break time for my husband - I am eagerly waiting to see where she is cruising too.....

If we do this particular cruise we would be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, that is why I'm very keen to see where she is going....guess I will just have to be patient, but it's hard. :-)

This is the date I am hanging out for as well, as my 40th is on Oct 8 2010 and I want to be on a cruise for it!!

I would prefer Princess if prices and ports of call look good, but I will also be looking at Pacific Dawn as we live in Brisbane ,save on flight costs for the 4 of us!!

Just wish those brochures would hurry up and come out!!

Hi Staceymrow,

Our yougest daughters birthday is also the 8th October, she will be 19 this year....the cruise is just for my husband and I.....

oh please Princess, bring out the brochures and list the dates SOON......

I am only looking at Princess - did a cruise on the Dawn Princess in February and just loved it....

As a treat I would LOVE a mini-suite - can anyone tell me if it's worth all the extra $$$. We did enjoy our balcony cabin and I guess I'm not totally sure if it's worth paying for a mini-suite????

The West Australian newspaper did a cruise feature last Saturday Sun Princess looks to be doing more cruises in 2010 than this year, with at least 4 x 17 nighters, 2 x 21 and a 30 night up to Hong Kong including 4 ports in vietnam including Halong Bay. We are booked on the 21 nighter in July this year and I am very tempted to try for the 30 nighter next year, we have booked a balcony, haven't had one before, but if that is as good as we hope then the next thing to aspire to is a mini suite which look terrific as I always find cabins small (because they are). How much more would it be to have a mini-suite and I wonder is it worth it, perhaps some lucky person who has enjoyed a mini suite, could advise. Also is the balcony diining in the evening worth the extra is it much the same food as in the restaurant and looking at the size of the balconies are they big enough to eat dinner on?

Hi there, we were lucky enough to be in a mini-suite in February this year on the sun princess. If you can afford the mini-suite go for it. It is double the size of the balcony rooms. The bathrooms is wonderful, spa bath, full shower, separate toilet/basin area. Walk in robe. Lounge with extra TV. All in all money well spent. Of course you also get double the size of balcony. A tip - if you can get midships near the laundromat and the lifts - bonus.

Don't know about the balcony dining - didn't indulge. I don't think I would bother though. The food is the same as in the dining room.

Dear Billy and Charlie's mum,

Thank you for the info on the Mini-suite. One of the main thoughts about the mini v's the balcony room was the size of the bathroom. I certainly like the sound of the separate toilet/basin and the full shower and spa bath - sounds just perfect. If we can afford the mini-suite I think I will try and go for it - especially as it will be a "treat" for our 30th wedding anniversary. We did spent a lot of time on our balcony, so something a bit bigger would certainly be a bonus - it's a lovely way to relax, with a good book, a nice glass of red wine and just watching the ocean and world to go....gee, I'm ready to go again...

We did not try the balcony dining either....as I did think the food was very similar in the dining room...

I did wonder about whether mid ship or at the back of the ship would be better...we do not mind walking at all, but I was wondering about the motion being at the back of the ship as opposed to mid ship....

thanks again for your advice....

Vicki.

Try to get midships. IMHO much less rocking therefore less seasickness.

We were going through some very rough seas at one stage - a few cyclones around - and a lot of sick people on board, however, didn't feel seasick at all.

Another plus midships - closer to laundromat - cuts down on laundromat rage when you can keep an eye on the line up LOL

Ok, will definately look at mid ship. We were on the Dawn Princess in Feb this year and had mid ship on the Aloha deck, balcony room - it was great. Mini suite would be a big treat....have to keep saving....and I'm still waiting for Princess to advise their September 2010 cruises - trying to be patient, but it's hard.

do some checking and you should find the dates for some cruises in 2010. on P and O

2nd october 9 nights from brisbane to sth pacific pacific dawn

30th sep 10 nights from sydney to qld pacific jewel

8th october 10 nights to qld from newcastle pacific sun.

There is a 17 night cruise on sun princess from fremantle back to sydney via bali on the 14th sept but that may be too early for you.

Frustrating I know waiting, hope they decide soon for you.
