vjmatty Posted March 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 21, 2009 Since we are not night club people and our ship the Golden Princess is in Honolulu until 11pm, I was thinking of scheduling an Ultimate Balcony Dinner that evening. If its a corner aft balcony on the starboard side while docked at the Aloha Tower, will we have a nice view, or is it going to be a landscape of cargo containers? :o
calgarygary Posted March 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2009 When I look at honolulu on google earth, there are ships in port. My guess is your view will be of cargo containers and cars.

Perhaps what I recall was the breakfast or I am out-to-lunch?

Perhaps what I recall was the breakfast or I am out-to-lunch? Yikes.... that would not be a good thing on this cruise. With the swells and storms in the Pacific over the last few sailings I would rather do UBD when my balcony is stationary ;)

Genghis Khan Posted March 24, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2009 Where can I find out more information about this Ultimate Balcony Dinner? Do a search on the princess forum, don't know if a similar service is offered on any other cruise lines.

I couldn't decide if it was more of a Hawaii question or a Princess question, and forgot that this is a predominantly POA board.

And while it might be a predominantly a PoA board, it's still a Hawaii board and you ARE cruising to Hawaii!:)
Genghis Khan Posted March 25, 2009 #10 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Would still like to know what you find out as we are in a port corner aft on the golden (in january) as well. The few images I have seen showing the orientation, seem to show the ships parked with the starboard along the pier but, I believe there is more than one location they park at. Believe with the extra time that we will try to find a better view at The House Without a Key on Waikiki Beach and save the UBD for a sunset on the way back. http://maps.google.com/maps?client=firefox-a&channel=s&hl=en&q=aloha+tower&ie=UTF8&ll=21.308027,-157.865081&spn=0.004768,0.010986&t=h&z=
