Carnival Imagination - Secrets? Tips

Only "secret" I can think of is if you want to go to the observation bridge, which hardly anyone is ever on, go to the verandah deck and go all the way forward and walk through the door at the end of the hall and it will bring you out there. The door isn't marked "observation deck" or anything, it might have an exit sign on it, but you open that door, go through another door, and you're on the deck with everyone looking down from the mini-golf deck wondering how you got there :)

I was on the 4-day trip to Key West and Cozumel.

I'm trying to think of tips....

Before sail-away, I made sure I took time to walk the entire ship, from bow to stern on each deck so I could get an idea of where everything was (just start from the top and work your way down that way you don't get tired climbing stairs).

The gym/spa is free, use it! The facilities up there are almost brand new and beautiful, plus there's a steam room and sauna, in addition to decent exercise equipment.

Of course the Serenity Deck is great for relaxing without kids, but amazingly on my cruise I found one of the quietest, kid-free areas, with plenty of chairs, was the deck where the waterworks is. On two occassions, my partner and I were literally the ONLY ones up there.

I ended up buying one of the DODs in the cup shaped like the funnel because I wanted to, but you shouldn't fall for the pressure sale of "there's only a few left!" Trust me, there are more than a few left. You'll see them all week.

One thing I kept seeing when people would get DOD's in those special glasses, they would just leave the glasses on the table or give them back to the bar when they were done. Those are yours to keep! If you're just going to give the glass back, ask for it in a normal glass, since it's cheaper that way!

Definitely have the chocolate melting cake :)

And while I didn't buy liquor at the duty free store, I would say if you're going to do it, do it before the last day. The prices don't change on the last day, but I went in other times during the cruise and it was quiet and I talked with the staff in there (it's the only place to find snacks like pringles, etc), but for some reason everyone waits until the last day and then it's a mad house! Do your shopping in peace beforehand, it all gets delivered to you on the last night so it doesn't matter when you buy it.

If I missed something let me know!

We are going to be on board Monday...

When I get back ask away...

:):):):)

Did you go to the piano bar? If so, how was Josh?

Did you see the live band "Pure" who plays on the Promenade deck at night? If so, how were they?

Thanks,

Mark

Just booked the Imagination for 10/12/09. Can't wait! Second time on Carnival. Looking forward to it!

The Carnival booking agent told me the ship is very similar to the Extasy, which was the first ship I ever went on. I had the best time ever. I can't wait!

That info is correct. The Imagination and the Ecstasy are both Fantasy Class ships and the layouts are identical. Enjoy your cruise. We'll be sailing on her for the 3rd time on 5/4.
