TBD and Guarantee-What's the Difference?

I see on X's web site oceanview rooms available on the Connie for $1,099 with a cabin assignment of "TBD" or for $1,499 "guarantee". What's the diference? And if there isn't one, why would you pay more and still not be able to pick your cabin? Same thing was showing for verandah cabins.

The TBD you quote is for any category within the oceanview (could be category 4,5,6,7, or 8). So you could be assigned to any of those categories. But if you opt to guarantee a oceanview in category 4 you could not be assigned a cabin below category 4. Hope I explained this reasonably well!:)

  • 7 months later...

I know this is a several months old thread but I was looking at The Summit Transatlantic for November 28. When I look at Guarantee Veranda it lists:

Standard Rate

TBD *899.00

per person *1,798.00

TBD *899.00

per person *1,798.00

Senior Rate

GTY * 799.00

per person * 1,598.00

GTY * 799.00

per person * 1,598.00

There was an explanation of the difference between GTY and TBD, but this isn't clear as to the difference.

Anyone with an explanation?

Regards
