cruzeluver Posted March 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2009 I see on X's web site oceanview rooms available on the Connie for $1,099 with a cabin assignment of "TBD" or for $1,499 "guarantee". What's the diference? And if there isn't one, why would you pay more and still not be able to pick your cabin? Same thing was showing for verandah cabins.
Conrycol Posted March 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2009 The TBD you quote is for any category within the oceanview (could be category 4,5,6,7, or 8). So you could be assigned to any of those categories. But if you opt to guarantee a oceanview in category 4 you could not be assigned a cabin below category 4. Hope I explained this reasonably well!:)
cruzeluver Posted March 26, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Thanks! Didn't notice the category associated with the guarantees. Makes sense.
SusieV Posted March 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2009 TBD also cannot be paired with any airfare specials but GTY cabins can.
sasset Posted November 1, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2009 I know this is a several months old thread but I was looking at The Summit Transatlantic for November 28. When I look at Guarantee Veranda it lists: Standard Rate TBD *899.00 per person *1,798.00 TBD *899.00 per person *1,798.00 Senior Rate GTY * 799.00 per person * 1,598.00 GTY * 799.00 per person * 1,598.00 There was an explanation of the difference between GTY and TBD, but this isn't clear as to the difference. Anyone with an explanation? Regards
