What kind of cabin will you/did you book?

Recommended Posts

We booked the Presidental Family Suite on Oasis on 7/10 and I am hoping that the concierge lounge still has alcohol before dinner' date=' it would be very disappointing if they stopped this extra benefit.[/quote']

I was told that they no longer offer that by the RCCL agent who booked my cruise. However, other posts have said they still are serving it. Not sure what to think. With the price of the Suites, you would think they could give us a complimentary glass of wine or two!

Well The wife and I booked yesterday and after much talk about or cruise for next year decided we would book the oasis. The only wany we were able to book it was to book a Cat L inside cabin. These are the bigger insite cabins and we were able to get on Deck 8. We thought that would be nice to just walk out to the trees. We also do not spend much time in our roomso for us it is more about being on this ship. The ship leaves on our Aniv. april 24th..

We did an Inside Cat N on Deck 8, we have 3 couples and we actually were able to get 3 cabins all side by side although TA said the Oasis is booking up fast.

We thought about the April 24th cruise but ended up going with the May 8th as it is hubby's birthday and our friends anniversary.

Boardwalk Balcony on deck 10, last cabin in the back next to the rock climbing wall overlooking the Boardwalk, Aqua Theatre and the ocean.

I also booked the same cabin for January 2011. It looks like a great room, with a variety of views!!!!!! I was on the phone at 9am the day the bookings for January 2011 opened.

I think that agent got confused with the new diamond perks that were dropped down effective July. I just came off IOS last month in an OS and alcohol was flowing just fine in the CL between 5:30 and 8:30pm;) The diamond lounge was so crowded they moved it into one of the clubs....and yes they had free flowing drinks also.

Does anyone mind if us Allure passengers joined this thread? I have heard that the ships are identical and I am trying to decide about a hump balcony one decks 8,9,10 and 11. Any advice? We are booked for 3/06/11....oh so far away but still checking daily on CS for any discounts. Can wait for the first reviews of Oasis.

what is the HUMP balcony - is that the one in the middle that jets out - if so we always try to get it - but I am not sure what the HUMP is

thanks

have a great one

little thought while you are looking out your balcony-------

Every so often, I like to go to the window, look up, and smile for a satellite picture

D1 category are the hump cabins...I have had a couple of them and I like it. The balconies are a little bigger too. I don't have it right in front of me, but it's like $30 or $40 more for this category.

These cabins are on the bump out of the side of the ship. The hump cabins are nice because when you are in the center of them you can see the front and back of the ship, whereas if you are in a cabin in front of or behind the hump, you can't see the other cabins on the other side of the hump.

I booked 7600 on Oasis for our Nov. '10 cruise :-)

I joined in and am on Allure in 2011. We have booked center hump 10598. I'd choose the deck where you can get the center hump, and I'd also go for starboard one if you want to people watch, as this is one ship that will only dock so that passanges ger on and off on one side only (starboard). Hope that helps.

I'm looking at my next cruise (after Celebrity Equinox). I'm thinking about Allure of the Seas in a D3 balcony room in 2011. I just have to pick out the date now. I might look towards Celebrity again though but I would like to try/see this mega ship at least once. :)

hmmmm, when we were booking our cabin, I remember reading about the starboard side. well, when we were making our reservation, i asked the RCCL rep about which side people will embark/disembark and they said it could be either side. I told them I read it was going to be starboard side and his response was that it depends on where the ship pulls in when they arrive to port.

Just wondering where the starboard side info came from? thanks

The info on the starboard side came from one of the reveals. Adam Goldstein had said during the reveal that they were arranging it so that passengers would always embark/disembark on the starboard side of the ship at each port. Whether it's true or not...I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I also booked a cabin on the starboard side for this reason.

Hi do you mean the Cat D1 by 'Hump Balcony'? I booked the last one on Deck 14 of the Oasis. I love a bigger balcony but can't afford a suite. I'm in 14194. I'll also be going on the Allure in 2012. These ships are amazing.

  • 1 month later...

Two years ago, we sailed on the Liberty of the Seas in a Promenade cabin and we thought it was fantastic to be able to sit and people watch. When I saw Royal Caribbean announce the Central Park area, I thought a similar cabin overlooking there would be really nice.

We booked a Central Park View cabin on our upcoming sailing next August not only due to that, but also because the price to get a pair of connecting CV cabins was surprisingly cheaper than getting two connecting L's.

Hi Everyone---

We are booked Oasis June 26.2010, We also had a JR suite that conncect's to a D1 balcony, but after seeing all the perks, & realizing how handy they would come in with a ship this size we went for the OS. Can't wait to see an actual picture of it.

Mercy
