Inspiration was a BLAST!!!!

We had a wonderful time...:) :) I was really looking forward to this, having never been on a cruise before, didn't really know what to expect. The ship was beautiful and spotlessly clean. The first thing I notice when we check into a motel room is the smell and I also take a can of disinfectant/air freshener everytime I travel. But it was never needed, our cabin Cat 11 suite was clean and smelled clean. Our room steward was great, really all staff was exceptional. Food, well I am speechless and also gained five pounds. The weather was warm but very windy our stingray tour in Grand Cayman was cancelled and I was very disapointed. In Cozumel, we took the Passion Island tour, the guide was wonderful, I think he made the cost of the tour worth while but it was also very windy, so did not enjoy the beach, I think next time we will just go to paradise beach. My regrets, I didnt use my camcorder because I bought one of the triplogs, when we got home it wasnt even of our cruise. I did take plenty of pictures but it is still not the same. Also...our table mates for dinner were fantastic I wish I had gotten their addresses. Is there a way to get that info from the cruise line? And finally depressed because its now over......We are ready to cruise again.

Loved your review!!! I have some questions for you, please. We are booked in a Cat 11 (V26) on the Inspiration for Oct 2005. Other reviewers have stated that the balconies are not really private. How exposed to the lower deck are the balconies? If I want to have my morning coffee out there, will other passengers be watching me? Will I have to be fully dressed, or can I sit on the balcony in my robe? Is the mini fridge stocked with beverages, wines, beer? Do you still have to bring your own hair dryer on the ship? Is the Verandah deck fairly quiet? Many thanks in advance.

The verandah suite balconies, although very small seemed private enough for us. There was a solid wall on either side for privacy, you could look down on the deck below and see an occasional person passing by, but never noticed someone trying to peer up and over the ledge. We left our curtains open most of the time. we did notice the balcony next door had christmas lights decorating their balcony ledge (I thought that was a great idea). I felt comfortable sitting out there in my pj's drinking my coffee. We were in V22 so v26 is right beside it. As I said earlier the rooms are nice and are also very clean but they were a little small. The "fridge" was empty ( I am addicted to diet sprite, so I took a 12 pack of cans, I packed them in our suitcases.) This was more than enough for me. Now on the counter they do leave a small variety of soft drinks and bottled water that the room steward will restock if used and bill to your sign and sail. I only used one bottle of the water. I took advantage of the "drink of the day" they were only 2.95 and loved the captains party on formal night, drinks and appetizers were free and plentiful. There was so much going on at all times your really not in your room very much at all. I hope you have a wonderful and safe trip.

Hi. I was very glad to hear such good reports about the Inspiration. Our TA thought she might be a bit ragged looking before her upcoming "make-over". DH and I are sailing on her this coming Thursday, along with my sister, B-I-L and another couple. We're looking forward to it especially after such glowing reviews. Thanks for posting.

Thank you very much for answering my questions. We were in a Cat 11 last October on the Victory. The fridge was fully stocked and the cabin was very roomy. I was hoping to not have to pack any wine or soda, but will rethink that now. Good to know I can wear my jammies on the balcony while drinking coffee.
