Rare Lois R Posted April 4, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 4, 2009 Hi:)...prices for Alaska cruises are very low and so even though I went back in Sept I am thinking of going again in June:D As for airfare:rolleyes:......having some difficulty in finding pricing AND timing that works for me. I have a question (even though I KNOW we all have our own airline preferences). UNITED has a really reasonable flight going west...Jax to Seattle for 154.00. I cannot remember the last time I have flown on them. Maybe when I was a child:confused:..... Can I get some feedback from any of ya'll??? I usually do SW and Airtran in more recent times. Airtran has a reasonable flight coming back..but not going west. SW is really disappointing me right now...no times that work and prices are high:( Anyhow..UNITED feedback please:) Thanks! ab0si Posted April 4, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2009 Basic rule on airlines: Almost any airline will usually get both you and your luggage to your destination safely.. if not on-time, at least on the same day as scheduled. Many of the "United" flights out of Jacksonville are either Mesa (I think that's the feeder United uses there) labeled as United or USAir code shares. What flights are you talking about? A key for me is scheduling (how much time between flight, where is the connection being made and from/to which terminal. Also, I look at the historic on-time record of the flights. $154 is a great price .. if it is "sane." For example, two tight connections? I won't do it .. I'd pay more for one reasonable connection. skf Posted April 4, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 4, 2009 I agree with abO...you should avoid multi-connections going to the ship. We flew United in 2007 back from San Juan thru Dulles to Manchester. We upgraded to their Economy-plus w/ more leg-room...it was as good as any economy flight. We are flying United in Sept...we'll fly direct from MHT to O'Hare, & then direct non-stop to Vancouver. We'll fly United from Beijing to ORD to MHT for the return. UA has the most direct flights for our needs. Steve
Rare Lois R Posted April 5, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted April 5, 2009 Hi,:) thanks for the replies. I have been out all day;) The flight leaves Jacksonville at 2:45pm and flies to IAD (DC) arriving at 4:37pm. My connection leaves DC at 5:50pm, arriving in Seattle at 8:43pm. So basically I have a little over 1 hour between flights.
