tallgibb Posted April 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2009 ...that the price has dropped for the catagory above mine (i'm at 7A on legend for $559) so a 8A for $609, when I booked mine the 8A's were $629 but that $20pp makes it a bit more tantalizing to upgrade ourselves... do we think it's worth it? I"m also wondering if there is more chances that a 8A will drop in price or a 7A? hmmm so many tuff choices. (our one and only past cruise was an aft balcony that we LOVED) but tuffer times = sacrafices..)
crusinmama06 Posted April 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2009 So 7A and 8A are both balconies. And 7A is Deck 5 midship and 8A is Deck 4 Aft - is that right? But it looks like the lifeboats might be in your view on the 7A balcony? So the upgrade would take you down a deck but get rid of the lifeboats out of your view? Is that correct? It's a $100 to upgrade. I did a $100 upgrade when I went from OV to balcony but is it really worth it just to get rid of the lifeboats?

I ddin't really think about it dropping a floor... but maybe cool to be closer to the water??? I'm just so not sure of those dang lifeboats... The life boats do not obstruct your view except when you are looking down. When you look out they do not obstruct your view at all.
candigirl41 Posted April 5, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 5, 2009 I had a 7A and the lifeboats were not really an issue. We did get upgraded from a 4A so that may skew my perception a bit. Candi
Fun, Fun 44 Posted April 5, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2009 I say go for it. I haven't had a 7-a yet, but have sure been thinking about it to at least have a balcony and fresh air. I've wondered if the boats would be smelly. Have heard the french door cabins that open, but has rail and can't go out smell from the oil. Just hear-say. For $100 I'd go for it. If there are any 8-a odd shaped balcony still available grab one. Some are roomier and some have two windows instead of one.....I love those! Enjoy which ever you choose, Kat
