1sttimeAlaska Posted April 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2009 I am planning on parasailing in Cozumel this May. I wear soft contacts, and would like to wear them. Is this recommended? Or would it be better to wear an old pair of glasses? How hard do you hit the water when you come back down? Thanks for your help. I certainly want to be able to see while I am parasailing! sarahjoe Posted April 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2009 Parasailed out of Paradise Beach. Kids took off and landed from the boat-never got wet. They both were wearing contacts but it didnt really matter.
1sttimeAlaska Posted April 7, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted April 7, 2009 That's nice to know. I assumes we would splash down in water. Thanks!
VikingChick Posted April 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2009 Though I have not parasailed in Cozumel, but I have done it several times at various beaches. I wore contacts and never had a problem. You take off and land on the boat. They will some times dip you in the ocean, but never get more than waist deep in the water. The wind may dry your contacts out some so maybe wear sunglasses. But you should have no problems. Have fun!
AAA_cruiser Posted April 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2009 My sister and I both pairasailed together in Cozumel last week. We both wear contacts and did not have a problem! We didnt even touch the water, we took off and landed right on the boat! Have fun!

pamp0227 Posted April 19, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 19, 2009 I've parasailed before wearing contacts and did not have a problem. I would recommend wearing sunglasses that way if they dip you the water will not splash into your eyes. Enjoy and have fun.
