NCL Sun tips?

Is Il Adagio free for breakfast and lunch? Can balcony passengers eat there for breakfast/lunch? Thanks!

My understanding is that Il Adagio was only available for breakfast for suite passengers. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Does anyone know if any of the restaurants, besides the buffet, are open for lunch on boarding day?

My experience on other ships has been that they encourage you to use the buffet, but if you ask around you can usually find a full service restaurant which is open.

Thanks for any suggestions....

The fitness room is smallish and was packed all the time when I was on my last cruise on the sun. But that could have just been because of the passengers. I was on another cruise on the Star that didn't have that much bigger of a fitness area and it was hardly used compared to the Sun.

The track gets crowded with people walking it after dinner, but seemed perfectly usable during the day.

We were on the Norwegian Sun for the 3-day LA to Vancouver Repo. Cruise, and here are a couple of quick hints:

On boarding day you can get lunch in a sit down restaurant (Seven Seas) but they didn't advertise it, and some crew didn't even know this.

East Meets West had great food, but service was very slow. As others have noted, they seemed very under-staffed.

On our trip they opened BOTH regular restaurants for full service breakfasts, but you had to know which on to go to or you were turned away and sent to the other. If they do this again, read the information which is delivered to your cabin.

Drinks were pushed pretty hard, especially in the Dazzles Nightclub, but a firm "no thanks" dealt with this, but it had to be repeated numerous times as different servers came around.

Observation Lounge was a good place for day time book reading or ocean watching.

I just had an NCL girl tell me you could put $75 on your OB account and use the sauna and pools all you want for the 7 days. Anything else, massages, peds, mans would be extra. But she couldn't tell me what kind of pools etc are on the Sun. Anybody know????

Las Ramblas for lunch. Soup & Sandwiches.

The Sports Bar for evening snacks.

Inside passage viewing: Park yourselves above the kiddie hot tub. If the weather gets inclement or too cool go to the Observation Lounge.

The really nice thing about being outside for the inside passage is that you are mobile. There may be whale or sea lion sightings on one side of the ship and you can relocate as needed.

I too have been searching for just this info about the Sun. I can find info a'plenty on the Gem and the Dream, but can't seem to find this answer about the Sun. Anyone?

My tip would be not to miss eating at Il Adagio; such a great restaurant.

To each his own, I guess, but was going to mention not to bother with Il Adagio. I thought the food was not that good, with the exception of the calamari appetizer, the service was the absolute worst, the atmosphere was nice, however....but not fantastic.

Things I liked about the Sun were numerous. I have written an extensive review on the ship reviews section of cruise critic (not the boards). All in all a great cruise on the Sun...will be joining her again this fall. Won't be going to dinner at Il Adagio....sorry!!

I have sailed on the SUn twice on a 10 day and 19 day cruise--the food in

IL Adagio was fantastic.

The breakfast and lunch for suite passengers was fantastic--i must have had lucnh and breakfast there at lease 20 times.

I have dinner there at least 10 times --and it was superb each time.

I'm trying to find info on Ginza Japanese Restaurant on the Sun. Is it only sushi and sashimi? Can anyone elaborate on what to expect in Ginza?

Thanks so much.....
