rjack22 Posted April 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2009 Possible, but not likely. You may get lucky. Very limited channels on the ship's tv's. You are not likely to be able to watch it on the ship's internet either. Much too slow....and expensive.
liverpool08 Posted April 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2009 When were were on the Sea Princess in June 2008, they had the Euro 2008 spain game on when we were out at sea in the night time, so you never know! What sailing are you going on, is it leaving from Southampton, because if it is, it will be geared towards UK people onboard and you chances will be much greater. audrey248 Posted April 10, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted April 10, 2009 Sailing from barbados, but i believe this cruise is aimed at the british market. Numerous flights from all major airports that day (18th) to meet sailing. May have to get a small radio with ability to pick up BBC world service. 4pm kick off in england what time in st.lucia ? caber Posted April 10, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 10, 2009 In Jaunuary on Sea Princess there were four football matches over two days shown on Movies under the Stars. These were daytime round the pool with a big audience. I think they were also on elsewhere, cabin tv or theatre but I am not sure. The majority of passengers were British. need2travel Posted April 10, 2009 #6 Share Posted April 10, 2009 During our cruise last spring, soccer championships were being held and my son, who's a die-hard fan, was very disappointed they weren't going to be shown on the ship. He became very creative and struck up conversations with fellow passengers who felt the same way. He got about 30 people who were interested, took the request to the cruise director to see what could be done. They ended up setting up a screen in one of the lounges and used the ship's satellite feed to show the game making for some very happy passengers. Might be worth a try... Presuming that you're in port that day, there are a couple of Sports Bars in Castries that may have it on or a safer bet may be to organise a day trip to one of the resort hotels where you should be able to see it. RickEk Posted April 10, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 10, 2009 You'd be more apt to get an FA cup game than an NFL game on the Sea Princess. One year, they were showing the Rugby World Cup in every venue, even at the casino tables on the Coral. The ESPN that they receive is an international feed.
