Koshlong Posted April 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2009 I understand that on, Sundays in Barcelona, there is an area where you can see the Catalonian dance "the Sandana"? Does anyone out there know more about this? Can you tell me how to find the place?
ab0si Posted April 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2009 The amazing thing about this is that it is "real." A fair number of locals do it for their own enjoyment. While they do not object to tourists watching, it is not done for the tourists benefit. I've seen it being performed in several places. Every time I have walked past Santa Maria del Pi on a Sunday for example. It is easy to get to.. just cut and paste into Google Maps
cruiseluv Posted April 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2009 They usually do the Sardana on Sundays at noon in front of the Barcelona Cathedral. Enjoy!
cruisemom42 Posted April 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2009 Just for clarity, that's the old cathedral in the Gothic quarter....not Sagrada Familia.
ab0si Posted April 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2009 Just for clarity, that's the old cathedral in the Gothic quarter....not Sagrada Familia. Yes. Actually, Sagrada Familia is not a cathedral. The definition of cathedral is the seat (home church) of a bishop. St. Peter's (Vatican City) is not a cathedral either.
