ivorcurly Posted April 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2009 Hi. I was wondering if the ride on Explorer Of The Seas is any rougher,in high seas, with the ship only using 1 propeller(azipod)instead of 2.

BobH5849 Posted April 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2009 I must of missed the news, how was the propeller damaged? We were on the cruise when the prop was damaged. 23 Jan-1 Feb 2009. Somewhere between Sammana and Labadee we hit something around 6'oclock in the evening. Not sure what, but it damaged the starboard side prop. It caused a lot of vibration and was shut down. The only difference running on 2 out of the three azipods was a reduction of speed from about 24kts to 19-20kts. They have been onschedule recently even with the reduced speeds.
