BayCalif-Ariz R Us Posted April 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Some British friends have offered to pick us up (we're on the Emerald Princess) when we dock at Dover on a Saturday in May and take us sightseeing. They are asking if we know how close they can drive their car to the ship itself - usually taxis are pretty close but what about private vehicles? Thank you! Rickey 88 Posted April 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Your friends should be able to park relatively near to your ship - but parking is limited especially if other ships are docked. This gives you more information: http://www.doverport.co.uk/?page=CarParking

handfordr Posted April 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2009 There is no problem at all. When your friends get to the Dock Gates, they just tell the people on the gate they're collecting people from the Emerald Princess. There is lots of parking available and stewards will direct your friends to a spot close to the terminal. They then can walk over to the exit of customs and meet you there. The stewards will allow your friends to go back and get the car and pull up outside the terminal for long enough to load luggage and passengers.
