NCL Dawn vs Caribbean Princess?

We have a choice between these ships to sail this month and though we have sailed both lines, we have never been on either of these ships.

We are happy with both lines, but the Princess ship is more per day than the NCL., but has a better itinerary. Deciding whether to do a last minute less expensive cruise on NCL, or spend more if the CP is a much nicer ship. Anyone been on both and can compare?

Thank you! We need to decide asap...

I checked and unless I'm reading it wrong, I would disagree that the CP has a better itinerary. You are only in Bermuda for one day and you leave. To me, 3 days in Bermuda far exceeds only one day.

yes you are right, I have just been to Bermuda a few times already and like the other options. The itinerary for this time isn't as important as the ship, service, food and cost...

Love both these ships! We've been on the Caribbean Princess twice and the Norwegian Dawn once (just last November), and think that they are both wonderful cruise ships. Don't think that anyone could tell you that one is "MUCH nicer" than the other.

Both have nice cabins, great public rooms, lovely dining rooms, and very good entertainment. Of course, if you've been on both cruise lines, you're familiar with the slight differences between the lines.

I'd make my decision based on the other criteria, and not worry about one being a better or nicer ship ... again, we loved them both.

Have fun!

Like the previous poster, I've been on both the Norwegian Dawn and the Caribbean Princess, and I enjoyed both of them. I noticed no significant differences in food or service. I would make the choice based on itinerary, cost, sailing date - whatever matters most to you.

A few differences I can think of off the top of my head - and maybe these don't matter to you at all:

Dawn's decor is full of bright colors - some may say garish, though I call it festive. Carib Princess has more subdued colors, but is not at all bland.

Carib Princess has lots of pools - two adults-only outdoor pools, plus two main family pools and a smaller pool near the kiddie wading pool. And it has the movie screen by one of the pools.

Dawn has more dining choices.

Have a great cruise, whatever you decide.
