dijid Posted June 5, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2009 It's been 16 years since I last cruised on Carnival. I was young & single and on the Carnivale to Nassau. (*sigh* as I remember those days) Now it'll be DH and our 3 kiddos on the Fantasy in September. I'm wondering if I still qualify for any kind of special cocktail reception or other past cruiser benefits. When I booked directly with Carnival, the lady kinda chuckled at how long ago it had been. Of course, I don't have any cruiser ID as any papers from that cruise are long gone.
Trplnckl Posted June 5, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2009 I have wondered the same thing, it's been about that long since I was on Carnival also. I can't even remember the name of the ships (two CCL cruises), but my ExW has scrap books. I may have to check with her and get the info.
rcoaster809 Posted June 5, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 5, 2009 I think I remember hearing that the Past Passenger records only go back to 1993. If you can prove that you were on that cruise, they will give you perks and the credit towards Platinum. The proof includes documents, Welcome Aboard photo with date and ship name, and maybe some other things. I would call Carnival to find out the details. Good luck! breezer Posted June 5, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 5, 2009 My only cruise with Carnival was in 1983. Three months ago I sent Carnival a picture of me meeting the captain along with a copy of my current driver's license. About a week ago I received a past guest number. firefly333 Posted June 5, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 5, 2009 I have three past cruises before 1993 I dont have any proof of, so they arent in my record. That being said the past guest rate is rarely that terrific that it makes a difference. The main difference to me is now that Im crusing again, I should be platinum and Im not. notme1955 Posted June 5, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 5, 2009 Mine from May 1992 was in my record. I got my past guest number from carnival.com. I think I just needed my date of birth and last name? Don't remember. But it came up with the others.
Cruise, J.D. Posted June 5, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 5, 2009 The past cruise can be added to your passenger profile if you can verify it. Others have done this and posted the procedure. Hopefully someone who has done it will chime in to help you.

Someone did chime in ;) above your post Three months ago I sent Carnival a picture of me meeting the captain along with a copy of my current driver's license. About a week ago I received a past guest number. This is exactly what they want to verify a past cruise...a copy of a photo (they want it dated. I used a welcome aboard photo) and a copy of your drivers license. I had a cruise that I took in 1991 added to my list of past cruises in this way. Good luck :)
Cactuscruise Posted June 5, 2009 #9 Share Posted June 5, 2009 I have three past cruises before 1993 I dont have any proof of, so they arent in my record. That being said the past guest rate is rarely that terrific that it makes a difference. The main difference to me is now that Im crusing again, I should be platinum and Im not. Past Guests usually get cabin upgrades if this promotion is being offered. For instance, for my upcoming cruise an 8C cabin was booked and moved up to an 8E for being a Past Guest. If you cannot provide ANY reasonable, minor proof that you sailed with Carnival, you're probably out of luck, as their records apparently don't go back that fare. If you quality, you'd be eligible for Past Guest rate (if/when such is offered on the cruise you're interested in) and invitation to the Past Guest parties. ken
dijid Posted June 5, 2009 Author #11 Share Posted June 5, 2009 Thanks. I'm sure I have pictures somewhere. I can also contact my friend that I went on the cruise with, as she's more likely to have kept better info. I'll have to see if they'd accept a scan of them sent digitally. Ken076 Posted June 5, 2009 #12 Share Posted June 5, 2009 apparently they're pretty cooperative in accepting anything that reasonably documents your sailing, I'm sure an e-mailed scan would be productive!!! ken
LHP Posted June 5, 2009 #13 Share Posted June 5, 2009 We had 8 cruises added (starting with 1982)...so you can get them added on, but you do have to have some kind of proof. Here is a letter giving more info and contact addresses: Getting old cruises added: We will be happy to enter these older sailings into the system manually and update your cruise history but we will need to verify your past sailings with Carnival Cruise Lines. Please provide one of the following: Boarding pass Cruise documents Sail and Sign card with your name Sail and Sign statement Embarkation Photo with ship and sailing date and current photo ID. Mail to: Carnival Cruise Lines 3655 NW 87th Avenue Miami, Florida 33178-2428 Attention: Renee Whitehead/Mischelle Beattie Mailstop: MSMK-655s Or Fax to: 305-406-6611 *If faxing or mailing information please be sure to include your name, address, phone number, date of birth and email address along with your proof of sailing. This will allow us to enter your information into the database and issue you a past guest number as soon as possible. If there is anything else we can do for you please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for choosing Carnival Cruise Lines and we look forward to welcoming you back aboard another one of our "Fun Ships" soon.
LHP Posted June 5, 2009 #14 Share Posted June 5, 2009 I also suggest that you contact your TA (most people used them back then) and see , if they are still in business , if they have any old records that might help. I say...if you cruised...you should get credit!!!
tiggerman101 Posted June 5, 2009 #15 Share Posted June 5, 2009 I have the same problem. I was on the Fantasy the first year it came out. They don't have a record of me. The only reason why I care is because we recently started cruising a lot and it would be one more towards platinum. I looked for photos, etc at my parents house but haven't been able to find anything yet. It is a little annoying, but not a big deal. I have yet to go to a past guest party anyway.
