tally10 Posted June 16, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 16, 2009 We stayed at the Hilton Diagonal Mar near the port. Very beautiful and modern hotel. We had a lovely view of the Mediterranean Sea from our window and behind us was the largest, or one of the largest, shopping malls in Spain. The mall has a supermarket in the basement in case you want to pick up bottled water or soda (or spanish goodies) for the cruise. There are also a variety of restaurants there. We only ate breakfast in the hotel as it was included in our rate and it was very good. We were at the port before 11am and eating lunch at 12 noon in the Windjammer. Have a wonderful cruise!:)
HMSDingy Posted June 16, 2009 #7 Share Posted June 16, 2009 We've booked a balcony room at The Continental after reading mumerous positive reviews of the place. Its only for the one night pre-cruise.
AZ-Floater Posted June 16, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 16, 2009 We stayed at NH Duc de la Victoria in the heart of Ramblas and had a great time. We also stayed at Avenida Palace near the top of Ramblas. If you are not staying in Barcelona for a few days, the other recommendations of hotels near the port should do fine. We loved the Brilliance and have been on her twice in the Med so far. Let us know if you have any questions.

We stayed at the H-10 Marina in January before our BOS sailing. Its near the subway and is a nice hotel. Its in a business district so you will have to ride the subway or bus to attractions. The La Familia Cathedral is about 15 blocks away from the hotel. We got it for $89 US on priceline. It was a 25 e cab ride from the airport and a 20e cab ride to the port.
