Muster drill on Serenade to Alaska

Recommended Posts

We are cruising to Alaska on 7/4 on Serenade OTS.

My wife has a lot of difficulty with stairs, particularly when in a hurry like during the muster drill, so we try to get in location a little early before they close access to the elevators.

So I have 2 questions.

1) Where is our muster location (mainly what deck)?

2) What time is muster drill?

Our cabins are 9642 and 9644. I realize that I can probably find this out pretty easily once we get on board, but I try to plan ahead for this.

We were in 9092 on Serenade to Alaska....our muster station was the Schooner Bar, deck 6. :)

I think it was about 4:45 PM, times may vary though.

Not to hijack the thread...but I have 9092 on Serenade next year (Southern Caribbean). How was the cabin?

On the 05/30/09 sailing of Serenade the Muster Drill was 4:15pm

Muster stations are mostly on the Promenade Deck (Deck5) some are on Deck 6 Schooner Bar, Chops and Portofino.

I think the Deck 6 Muster Stations are for mid ship cabins, I guess your Muster Station is on Deck 5 outside.

Where you will need to go is posted in your cabin...for the Muster, just leave early so she CAN use the elevators! Then, just wait a few minutes when it's over, and you can use the elevators again!

In a REAL emergency, there will be folks to help those having difficulty.

On the back of your door of your cabin it states the muster station for you. Just look and grab your lifevests and get there early.

If you have difficulty they will allow you to take the elevator for the drill, see the purser when you check in and they will make arrangements.

Also, on your life jacket you will find the muster station ID and Cabin #. Additionally on your SeaPass, you will see a letter followed by two number (most ships....D25 for example) and that is your muster station ID as well.

You will see young kids with color coded bracelets with their YEP Muster Station ID as well. DD loves to keep hers on for a week after the cruise just for fun.

Enjoy the cruise, and as already said head down a few minutes early and you will be fine.

From what the original poster said....I think he is aware of the back of the door and seapass listing for muster stations. So it will be deck 6 or deck 5. :D
