Hi fellow cruisers, Im planning on my first New England cruise for this September. Will be having a few days pre cruise in New York to do all the tourist things, but then on final day of the cruise will disembark in Brooklyn in the morning and then dont have a flight back to the UK until the evening from Newark. i was wondering if any of you guys have been in this position and what you did with yourselves & your luggage for the day. Dont really fancy sitting in Newark airport for 15hours or lugging our luggage around the streets of Manhatan. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.:confused::confused::confused:

Where are you staying pre-cruise? Can you make arrangements with that hotel to let you stow your luggage for a few hours when you return?

I think it would depend on the day and how I was feeling.

If the weather is one of those fabulous fall NYC days, I would hop a cab to Manhattan, check my luggage with a bellman at one of the bigger Manhattan hotels (Marriott Marquis, Hilton Sixth Avenue) and spend the day outside soaking it all up.

If I was tired or it is chilly and rainy, I'd book a cancellable day room at one of the better Newark Airport Hotels. I'd rest up, order room service, rent a movie.

Great tips guys thanks, still in the process of finalising our pre cruise hotel but will look into this as soon as we're sorted.
