bx wahine Posted June 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Hello all, My DH and I are booked on AOS in Nov. I'm considering a change to Serenade because I prefer their itinerary. I hear that AOS has a Latin themed lounge like Boleros on Enchantment. For us, it's one of our favorite places to hang out in the evening. Is there a Latin themed lounge on Serenade? This may be the deciding factor in whether or not I am willing to pay extra for the ship/itinerary change. Thanks!

When I was on the Serenade two years ago I didn't notice a latin themed lounge however there was latin music and dancing during most evenings in the Centrum. There are several lounges on the ship. I loved the Serenade. I don't think you can go wrong with either ship.
BroncosFan2010 Posted June 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 24, 2009 If it were me choosing, I would go with the Serenade because I think the ship is designed better. It feels much less crowded than the Adventure, even though it is smaller. There are so many lounges and areas to hang out, I am sure you could find a new favorite place. I am all about itinerary, so for me it would be a no-brainer. The Serenade is my favorite ship, and I have been on both the AOS and the SOS. I am also a fan of very few sea days, so the Adventure usually looses out on that because there are usually 2 days at sea. My favorite place to hang out on the Serenade was the Schooner Lounge. The pool tables were fun to play on (only on the Radiance class ships), and there was always live music somewhere on the ship.
bx wahine Posted June 24, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Thanks for the input. I want to make the change but the price difference is somewhat significant for me. Knowing whether or not there would be a lounge we'd want to spend a lot of time in would have made the decision easier. Just out of curiousity do any of the other ships have something like Boleros? I've been on Majesty and Enchantment and two other cruise lines and that lounge is my fav by far. Sorry if I sound nitpicky but you know how it is when you find something you really like. :)
BroncosFan2010 Posted June 24, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 24, 2009 If I had to guess, I would say that the Voyager class and larger is more likely to have what you are looking for, and a much larger selection of lounges than the Radiance class and smaller. BroncosFan2010 Posted June 24, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2009 It is also possible that the destinations you are visiting will play a role in the daily themes and styles of music available on board.
bx wahine Posted June 24, 2009 Author #7 Share Posted June 24, 2009 I haven't tried any of the bigger ships but I have been on smaller ships and think if it's not broke why try to fix it. The fact that Serenade is smaller than Adventure is very appealing.
